I grabbed it from Binny's Grand Saturday. There were a few on the shelf, but not sure if it is still there.

Having never had Monkish stuff, what does this imply, out of curiosity?

I think Monkish is my favorite IPA producer in the country. In my opinion their IPAs are usually thick with a mouthfeel that really coats the tongue, and I don't find they have a 'softness' to them, actually are pretty sharp for the style, and definitely has a sense of bitterness / bite in the finish. Aroma is usually extremely pronounced. Extremely hop saturated. Appearance wise usually always an opaque bright yellow. And this batch of Fire Skulls Money really reminds me of that approach.
And maybe I'm just drawing a connection I noticed the description of the beer says 'inspired by a trip the West Coast'

Can’t really think of a good reason Sosus isn’t both in cans and made more often. Would it cut into Pompeii production?

11 of 12 bottles on the shelf at the AH Binny's were completely illegible. 12th bottle was very clear...8/14/18.

I can only imagine the amount of work I would get done if it only had to make sense 1/12th of the time.

Thanks for the tips, guys. FWIW, found around a case or two on the shelves at the Wheeling Binny's Monday afternoon.

And agree with everyone else - great-tasting beer.

Is this batch of FS&M juicy? I remember trying it on tap a couple months ago and wasn't impressed

I personally wouldn't use juicy to describe Fire Skulls and Money.

had sue on tap at Hopleaf and it was a completely different beer than the hazy stuff from cans i drank earlier this year. could have been any below average IPA, especially compared to the Zombie Dust i drank just prior to it. i know its a cliche at this point that the QC is all over the place with this beer, but i just dont see the point in ordering it anymore. its no better than a 50/50 craphshoot in terms of what youre even going to get

I had the hazy PsuedoSue batch from cans a few months ago and then I had a completely amber clear batch at Toppling Goliath a couple of weeks ago. Both enjoyable but basically two different beers. They really need to resolve that variation at some point.

Hasn't the nickname "Toppling Consistency" been thrown around this forum in the past? Mainly in regards to the differentiating quality in IPA batches? I've had batches of King Sue that were "meh", but it happens - it won't make me stop purchasing it.

Honestly, between that and how that non-compete was recently handled, I'm sitting out TG's stuff for a while. I don't like getting 4-packs of PS and having no idea what version I'm getting.

Hazy Sue is good but LawSUEt is my favorite of the unofficial variants.

what i dont understand is, does this variation/complete lack of brand standard also exist with Pompeii? i havent noticed it nearly to the degree of PS. if not, why not?

anyway, i figured ordering on tap would result in a better beer than what ive had in cans, and it was the complete opposite. at this point i dont really know what the hell theyre doing. dont have the patience or disposable income to risk a drain pour every other purchase.

I've generally found myself staying away from their PA/IPA/DIPA offerings until I see from reviews/feedback how the batch available is tasting. The last batch of King Sue (which I purchased from Toppling Goliath during Mornin' Delight release event) was fantastic. I wish I would have bought more. But there have been batches of other TG beers (like PseudoSue) which I've regretted purchasing a 4-packs of prior to checking quality and feedback.

According to Josh Noel’s beer of the month article about Sue it wasn’t meant to be hazy and eventually it would be clear.
