I wanted to try this forever, given its iconic status. As is often the case with such beers, it left me slightly disappointed, but that may also be due to the fact that it's 5 months old. Still a very nice old school IPA with a certain west coast touch, I guess. Would definitely buy this regularly if it was available cheap and fresh where I live.

Back from a few days in the woods and there’s nothing out of the ordinary to report. Just a skirmish on the lido deck between some green fairies and a pack of leper forest gnomes. No pics, but I might sketch it up sometime. Also, Mothman was on our cabin roof every night. Wife doesn’t believe me of course.

Anyway, my Dinner tonight is provided by @SomethingClever. Thanks!! Delicious!! (Hope he’s not expecting anything in return later.)

Just got this in my local distribution. It is pretty good fresh, but let's admit, none of the over-hyped beers change your life when you try them.

I saw that one earlier this week and almost picked it up for the pretty polka dots, but I'm having an increasingly hard time paying $22 a 4-pack without at least getting to stand in line first. Glad you enjoyed it.

I never liked Rush either. The songs are fine, but I find that dude's voice annoying. The video in the BIF thread was probably the most I've ever enjoyed a Rush tune cuz it had that other guy singing it. Hopefully saying that doesn't get me banned from Canada.

At my mom’s house in N.C. while Florence abuses our house, no idea how long it is before we can go home. Having an IPA my brother left from his last trip here, not bad.

Good light lager. Nice head retention/lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of cracker, corn, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit malts; with mild herbal, grassy, peppery hops. A bit of fruity corn aromas/flavors, but not overwhelming. Mild herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, light body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Bready/grainy malt and light sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing lingering bitter/carbonated dryness. Very flavorful/refreshing, 3.8%. Not too watery. Very clean lagering, no yeasty notes. For an ultra light beer, this is really well done. A lot better than the base beer, as it is more flavorful. Clean pale malt/grains, and solid earthy hop presence/balance. Not overdone on adjuncts. 3.58

Nice fruit wheat. Great head retention and soapy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of lightly tart/tangy cranberries, fruit skin, spruce, lemon, pear, and red apple; with moderate wheat, cracker, biscuit dough malts; herbal/floral/grassy hops and yeast earthiness. Mild herbal/grassy/spicy bitterness and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Bready/grainy wheat; light sticky hops and fruit tang/acidity in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering tart/bitter dryness. Very flavorful/refreshing, 5.8%. Would have preferred more fruit/spruce. Nicely balanced pale/wheat malts and fruity American wheat yeast; with solid berry and spruce presence. Mild earthy hops. 3.68

At Storm Peak for a Chowder IPA as I ponder what's for dinner. It's advertised as hazy, but not much so. Haze is just another visual and good is still good.

    It’s worth a single pick-up at least. I’ve still never seen a FO 4-pack. $6.69 a single near me.

Starting with this tonight a Berliner Style Pale Ale brewed with Mosaic and triskel hops. It’s quite tasty lots of mango and cantaloupe.
