That JBM 35 was pretty remarkable. Of course I had it in 2016. But I could never say a beer is my top 3-5 as I have been exposed to so many great beers over the 8 years of drinking craft.

C'mon. Surely we can agree that 3 Sons doesn't even make beer, lol...

People that like 3 Sons stouts enough to place them above most others need to admit they don't actually like Stout.

There is so much handicapping with flavoring additions that the liquid in your glass is probably closer to melted candy bar than actual beer on the whole.

Breweries like this take the concept of making "beers to introduce to non-beer drinkers" to new lows. Their shit is absolute chocolate syrup and Coffee-mate garbage. And that goes for much of J Wakefield's stout catalog as well. Might as well chug a case of Frappuccino.

VBT is delicious. Among the best stouts that ***I've had***.

It just sounds like you don't like adjunct stouts.

The first rule of 3 Chiefs membership club is: you do not talk about 3 Chiefs membership club .
The second rule of 3 Chiefs membership club is: you DO NOT talk about 3 Chiefs membership club!
Third rule of 3 Chiefs membership club: someone yells "stop!", goes limp, taps out, the in line bottle share is over.

Is this a collab with Horus by chance? Because only the most expensive beers in the world seem to be made using nothing but the best coffee like Geisha.. I mean, thats how you recoup your expenses by overcharging for beer that takes less than 5 months to produce exceptional style stouts these days.

It'll probably be cheaper than Horus' $46 non BA stout lol

I tried a Geisha coffee a few months back at Sump in St Louis, and while it was one of the best cups of coffee I’ve had in my life, I think it’s a very poor choice of coffee for a stout. It was delicate, fruity, tea-like, and had a unique “yeasty clove” character. Not the type of flavors that would complement a stout well.

In my opinion, using Geisha coffee is more about building hype and likely trying to justify an absurd price than making the best beer possible.

Can’t wait for the elite beer gentry to let us peasants know how this new beer's the best coffee stout ever made.

I'm too cheap to buy Geisha for my V60, why in the hell would I want to pay for it as an adjunct in a beer?!?

Someone should feed Geisha Coffee beans to a civet. That would have to be some next level sh*t I imagine.

Beachwood Blendery had Okie Kokie rye sour "bier" made with Geisha beans instead of Koke. As much as I liked the Geisha version, you kind of need to treat that as a tea rather than as a coffee. I don't see the real need to add that to a beer due to how subtle those flavor notes can get already. Then you're muddling it all up with other adjuncts. With the sour beer, at least it was generally clean enough (and they had both on tap) that I could sort of spot the difference.
