Hahaha! I guess since they got away with the Daddy's Home artwork from a few years ago, they thought they could do this. Nope.

 

Oh right, I did see that, I think they may have made a shirt too. It's funny seeing breweries do this, I'm surprised that Nintendo hasn't brought the hammer down on The Answer for their glassware.

 

Haymaker just posted that they have cans of OH 495nm available (to go only), but more importantly, no limit!

 

I wouldn’t be surprised if they quietly throw the mercy up on their web shop once this blows over. I was able to snag an extra kreme mug even after Dunkin went after them.

 

Speaking of these C&D letters, copyright infringement and whatnot, I've noticed that some breweries drive hype solely by using popular IPs as can art, as oppose to actually making good beer. The Veil and The Answer cross the line often, but at least they make dope beer and built their brand around that first and foremost. But others like 450 North have pretty mediocre untappd ratings (admittedly haven't tried them), and as far as I can tell, they are building their brand and driving interest mainly through derivative can art from Super Mario, Harry Potter, cereal boxes and other forms of 90s nostalgia.

 

I know it makes me a sad middle-30's dad that my dream come true is strolling into Other Half and throwing back some beers and taking home a four pack of DDH Forever Simcoe to mingle with the latest dual-hop in the beer fridge and I feel more than ever now "how can I ever leave New York this is the greatest place on Earth!" Because beer.

Re:nostalgia labeling on beer, my eye is always drawn to that damn Bolero Snort OVB can (I'm hopelessly addicted to orange creamscicle anything). Haven't tried it so maybe I should eat crow now, and at least the labels kind of shorthand for the beer contained therein...but it always struck me as pandering.

But back to OH: anyone have thoughts on Vic Secret taste profile? I can't recall a beer I've had with it in recently (or the last year, AFAIK, anyway).

 

I think the Hop Showers with Vic Secret was the best batch they have made this year.

 

Passing through Other Half for the first time next Thursday. You guys think there is any chance they have Forever Simcoe still? That's one of my all time favorites. Thanks!

 

Enjoyed my first trip to the brewery last night. So many options. Plus 10 cans to go. Can't beat it.

 

My guess would be you’re probably out of luck on cans, but they might have it on tap, so you can at least have some or possibly get a growler if you’re lucky. The tap list on their website is usually pretty accurate from what I can tell.

 

Why doesn't the Hop Showers label change to show the the DDH hop ? I mean OH already has over 400 beers whats a few more stickers ?

 

Huh? They just released it yesterday. I'm sure they have plenty of cans left.

 

He asked for a week from tomorrow about Forever Simcoe. Highly unlikely FS will last for 9 days.

 

I don't think they do it for any of the variants. DDH Dream in Green (w/ Galaxy) was the same as the original DDH Dream in Green, Double Cream Get the Honey (w/ Galaxy) was the same as Double Cream Get the Honey (w/ Mosaic), etc.

 

any word on where they will be distroing cans?

 

Never though I'd see the day where I could walk into OH on a Wednesday and there would be 10 different cans for sale
