It isn't false advertising for any brewery to field clueless tasting people in branded shirts to pour at tastings and events, and it happens all the time. Often it could be the fest itself having volunteers pour too. Maybe that was the case here, and maybe it wasn't. However, in cases where the brewery staff is on hand to pour, I think you are far more likely to get a more knowledgeable person who can offer a more intimate interaction and exchange of information.

You'll have to forgive me for assuming that you are looking for meaningful interactions in the vein of brewery staff who are enthusiastic, engaging, and knowledgeable about their brewery and products. Your previous comments sure seem to suggest that. But you're right, only you can actually know what you want. I suppose I should have written "the type of meaningful connections you seem to be looking for." If you care to more clearly articulate what sort of meaningful interactions or experiences you are looking for, then maybe those of us on this thread who are very experienced in the ways of beer fests, events, etc can offer polite suggestions as to where you might find what you seek.

Of course it multi faceted, and the simpletons who think changing laws and confiscating guns are equally clueless.

Of those brands I've only had goose island and I like 312 urban ale and I really liked goose ipa. I dont really care who owns the brewery as long as the beer doesn't suck

Sorry, I guess "tricked" was a poor choice of word. "Lured" or "baited" may have been better.

I never said money was evil, nor did I say being rich made you evil. I simply stated that the because AB are one of the richest companies in the world, that makes putting on a free festival a lot easier for them.

    Now you're just being facetious.

I do hate InBev. Which is why I don't support them. However, I can't and don't try to force anyone else to boycott them. I wish more people would, but I can't make that choice for them.
Gee. I'm sorry I struck such a nerve with you.

The funny thing is that I don't really support them, either. I might buy a few of their craft products throughout any given year, either on draught or in the bottle/can, but I tend to find most of their options to be, well, boring or just not what I'm looking for. In other words, I won't turn up my nose at them when offered, but VERY rarely do I find myself going out of my way to purchase ABI products. Too many great products out there to be bothered with them, really.

I just find the moral grandstanding of the anti-AB crowd to be obnoxious. It’s almost like they’re being asked to be thanked for their service in their boycott (except, as we know, on Black Friday).

“Hating” AB seems like an easy stance to maintain. They’re an easy target. That said, it’s not that difficult to avoid their stuff. It’s not a sacrifice. In fact, there’s zero sacrifice or hardship that typically comes along with making a moralistic stance.

I’m not even going to get into how it reeks of classism, similar to looking down on fast food when it’s the only real option for some people.

Agreed. Stopped watching the NFL this year because of how they handled players protesting. Don't miss it at all. In case you wondered, I'm for players being able to peacefully protest, even though I don't agree with why they were in this for-instance, and dislike greatly how the NFL, and others, tried to say they were disrespecting the flag, the country, the military, etc. Complete bullshit, that.

I'm a football junkie I'll never stop watching. But I support the players right to protest, personally I don't agree either. Goodell and the NFL owners are clueless white billionaires who are used to bullying people with their check book. I'm ex military, taking a knee is the ultimate sign of respect to a fallen brother, you kneel in church. The media fueled it, the dumbass owners made their proclamations which made it worse. I'm not seeing it or hearing about it right now, if Goodell shuts up it would have been done a long time ago.

And I do buy the odd Budweiser, more for nostalgia than anything, the retro style bottles take 45 years off my life. But in general they don't have beers I care to purchase more than once in a blue moon.

How can anyone complain about free beer? I mean, if you don't like the brand then don't go but let's not dissuade them from serving others.

Like I said, I don't blame anyone for going. Free beer is free beer.
