What's the story with the missing Mountie? With the obvious placement of 'Product of the US' on the label, did a certain country to the north object to it?

I love CBS but disappointed no 4 packs again. I mean everything else is 4 packs for the BA except this. I don't think it has to do with amount of barrels, this seems pure economical to me. I doubt they'd want to charge 50 bucks for 4 pack.

My post wasn’t meant as a slight to you, but rather with you posting the official announcement and all the prior whining from folks, that’s what drove my post.

It’s a really good barrel aged beer. Sounds good to me. Would I prefer 12 ounce bottles? Sure, but they’re hardly the only ones doing bombers. And in terms of overpriced, I assume you wouldn’t buy anything from places like Modern Times, Cycle, or many other similar breweries producing BA stouts?

Modern Times, Cycle, etc. are a far cry from what Founders is. Founders has a huge warehouse (emphasis on huge) completely dedicated to barrel aging. They have the ability to pump out beer for a much cheaper price. Combine that with the MT and Cycle, etc. giving NEW options....I'd gladly spend $30 on something from those other breweries than $25 that will be on shelves all over the country, again.

So let me understand this. You are mad Founders is using this huge warehouse dedicated to barrel aging to pump out a world-class beer $5 cheaper than other brewers and available without waiting in lines or chasing trucks. And that is a problem?

They’re putting out a really good beer at the market rate (and cheaper than many other places). I’ll enjoy one or more of them. You don’t have to, and we can both be happy about our choices (or at least I will be).

A local store still has 1/4BL kegs available of the 2017 imperial stout, this is my first time ever buying a keg I assume that the beer will still be fine with a bit of age on it? I know it would it bottles I'm not familiar with kegs but I assume it is the same idea

I'm not mad. I'm disappointed. I'm disappointed that they refuse to offer CBS in the 12oz that they have offered every other barrel series in. I'm disappointed that they pump this barrel series up to be something groundbreaking (at least locally). I'm disappointed that local customers are begging for BA Sumatra, BA Imperial, BA MFDS, Black Biscuit and they re-re-release these beers. I'm disappointed they stopped the Backstage Series only to give two new BA IPAs every year under the new Barrel Series.

One of my local places tapped a 2015 of FIS a few months ago and it was fantastic. Silky smooth.

Lol. Calm down buddy, everything is gonna be OK. Please tell me where it’s sitting on the shelves and I’d gladly buy a second bottle.

There are 4 stores with 10 miles of me in West Michigan with them on shelves. Your mileage may vary.
My apologies for wanting the brewery 10 minutes away from me to actually use creativity instead of making the same beer over and over and over again.

Ah yes, it's so unfortunate there are no breweries in western Michigan doing things in a different way than Founders is.

    lol

Trying to get others to understand the big picture is clearly failing on my end. Exponentially as hard considering most of you won't understand because of a regional bias/differences. My personal disappointment means more beer for the rest of you. Silver lining is I'll have all of this extra money burning a hole in my pocket.

I saw where you're coming from in your disappointed post. You're a big fan of Founders and they keep playing the greatest hits rather than re-rack the deep cuts or go experimental.

I guess, at least nowadays you're able to wait out Founders with other awesome beer like HawkBeerFan suggests.

You are saying the same thing as @Number1Framer from the previous page. Totally get where you both are coming from - a little more innovation out of Founders and a little more listening to their customers wants/hopes would go a long way for a customers like you

This beer deserves the 18th spot it holds for best beer in the world. Wish I had the bottomless pocketbook to buy as many of these as I really want to.

Instead I'll probably limit myself to 2, a four pack of KBS, and some maple syrup. Gets pretty damn close and I can keep it to 12oz at a time.

Here's to BA Sumatra next year!

Founders is constantly doing new, daring barrel aged beers. Unfortunately, they are IPA's that don't taste good.

Welp, I see this has started since I worked today.

Funny thing is, I've had a CBS in the fridge for a while now. With the temperature finally swinging toward fall today, and it being a long week, I had just opened it before catching up on the daily "news."
