Agree, wish more breweries did mixed 4-packs. Places like Hop Butcher could do it when they release in sets of 2. The maxin / relaxin beers would have been perfect for that.

It was a great idea when Temperance put one out for their BA stouts release, good to see another brewery realizing they were on to something.

I really like this idea (and the flavors listed), so I'm glad that they're only 6% abv to dull the sting of me missing out on 'em.

 

No banter on Original Reaper? Anyone crack any of the cans open yet??

 

Pricing is $20 for the four pack. Wish it was a little cheaper, I'd pick it up then

 

Tried them all on tap yesterday. Original was fantastic and my favorite overall, followed by coconut variant. taste like an almond Joy. Coffee was third for me. Didn't care much for the vanilla or blueberry. Both were too sweet. I picked up a 4 pack still for the hell of it.

 

I had the cinnamon-only, draft-only variant. It was good! It’s a light, sweet stout - so don’t expect a thick, roasty, fudge-bomb. It also got much better as it warmed. Cold, it tasted only like the cinnamon. Warm, the base beer came out more. My friend described it as light, like cinnamon and powdered sugar on a donut. Sort of tasted like a Christmas cookie to me.

I can’t think of any other beer I’ve had recently like it. A fun and weird experiment. Picked up a 4-pack for myself and one for a friend I owe a care package to because everyone on my fantasy team is already injured and fantasy football is stupid and football is stupid and I hate losing.

 

Maybe it’s my hangover, but I’m confused. It seems like you mentioned 5 versions. What is the “original”?

 

I saw 5 available on draft there yesterday. I think there was non-adjunct, blueberry, coconut, coffee, and cinnamon although not entirely positive beyond the 3 I’ve tried: coconut, coffee and cinnamon.

 

There is the 4 mix pack: coffee, blueberry, coconut/cacao, cinnamon/almond/vanilla.

Draft only cinnamon variant at tap room. Looks like chai variant at balmoral. Also appears to be a “base stout,” didn’t see that at the tap room...

Nice. One of the best beers they put out every year.
