Didn't say you did, but you described the yeasty, fruitful, Belgian finish. That's why I asked if Ruthless Rye was a Belgian IPA (couldn't find info about this on SN website). .

Not here, otherwise I wouldn't have the fear. First review looks like it is from last week which isn't a huge delay. Normally the SN here shows up ~5 weeks after the bottling date.

Love SN, they are appealing to beer geeks with these limited releases/bba/imp stouts/collabs/etc... This on top of their solid lineup and seasonals it's impossible not to like them. Also still haven't seen Narwhal in NJ, but will keep searching as I will be pissed if I miss it.

I agree with the price point. A 12 pack of SNPA is like $12.99 or so right? I understand that these beers are experimental and might use ingredients outside of their normal supply chain, but making the Beer Camp more money is turning people off from picking it up to try. I haven't actually purchased a Beer Camp set so far but I have been able to try a few on tap and whatnot. If they lowered the price to even something like $14.99, I would be game.

Sierra Nevada has a brilliant line up and these additions will ensure that they continue to earn an decent share of my beer $ in 2013.

Wasn't BA Bigfoot supposed to come out in late spring/early summer of this year?

That extra $4.00 is a deal breaker? Really?

I'd love to see torpedo, hoptimum and celebration in 12 oz. cans. I hate 16 oz. cans, I don't see the appeal in them at all.

Yawn. Could care less about the geek-tastic offerings. Bring back Glissade and get rid of Tumbler & Ruthless Rye.

Also - hurry up and get the NC brewery built so I have fresher Torpedo here in Boston.

Strange to see such passion for Glissade, I thought they completely dropped the ball on that one. It really reminded me of brewpub or homebrew attempts at the style from like 20 years ago, relying way too heavily on domestic two row, and underattenuated to boot. The malt character (in a malt-heavy beer, no less) was just off, shallow. It really paled in comparison to something like Einbecker. Yes, we definitely could use more versions of the style, but this wasn't the one.

I don't think you have to worry about Summerfest going anywhere, either. Bill Manley has posted that it is their #2 beer in terms of volume. But, it's also a good thing that they aren't too married to a seasonal if it's not working. Tumbler is waaaay better than the previous Brown Ale and it can also have the crossover appeal that I think they are looking for with something like that. Second try was a charm.

I really like what they're doing overall, and where they are going. And I have no doubt that they can, at this point in time, keep a number of balls in the air and not take their eye off of any of them. It may have taken them a while to get to this point, but I'm really glad they aren't resting on their laurels.

Have you seen hoptimum and celebration in 16 oz cans? I love the tallboys simply cause they fill up my pint glass. I saw NB was starting to make shift in 12 oz cans and was a little bummed since I love having it in tallboys!

When Red's Rye is at its best, it blows Ruthless Rye out of the water. But an average Red's is on par with "Ruthless".

Love this thread as it is pointing out the difference between beer geeks and beer drinkers. IMO chasing the beer geek is not sustainable - especially when the new brewery comes online and VOLUME of sales is going to be the make or break point for it. Easy to engage the beer geek with new offerings all the time, a little harder to engage repeat customers. The real test will be when craft growth starts to slow.
