Do the local beer bars around you not carry local beer?

Glad you said "less" and not "no", because there are certainly people douchin' it up at beer bars, too. There just aren't people waiting in line for 4-packs of pounders.

I met by brother at a bar last night and two guys were sat next to us discussing what is and what is not a NEIPA. They had the discussion for at least 30 minutes. Even the annoying bartender was getting annoyed. I nearly vomited when one said "Suspended yeast and legitimate haze are not one in the same". He said LEGITIMATE HAZE. Now whether or not what he said makes sense, I wouldn't know or care, but in that moment I knew I hated this man.

Where do I start? Maybe a top 10:
    1) Ticking isn't everything, but it's like 90% of things
    2) 27 divided by the ABV% is the rule for determining the legitimate number of ounces for a tick
    3) Most homers that overhype breweries do so out of a Napoleon complex from living in a shithole city/state like St. Louis, Iowa, or Tampa
    4) Hazebros have ruined Untappd
    5) Way more American sours and hazebombs are dog shit than most people want to admit, especially homers
    6) Barleywine is life
    7) English B-wizzle >>> American
    8) American B-wizz is still better than most other beer
    9) There's nothing wrong with saying B-wizzle or B-wizz
    10) The pastryarchy must be smashed

I think completely the opposite... A pub, beer garden, brewpub or taproom (which are all different than a straight up bar) should be fine for any family member including children. For so many years we made such a big deal of the "evil alcohol", especially here in the south. It is refreshing to see the "decriminalizing" of beer.

I'm talking stuff like Schlenkerla, DeRanke, Goudenband, etc...

These beers are absolutely stellar on draught, and very worthy of my attention whenever I come across them.

I have more than a few great breweries I will travel a long distance to, just for the experience of drinking the beers fresh. Some only have one, or a few on at a time.

Ya know, after reading all your "opinions" about lager beer, I guess I kinda feel better that you disagree with me than if you were to agree

While I can sympathize with this approach, you'd definitely be selling yourself short in NYC, at least. Taplists are mostly local, plus there are other desirable regions like the Hudson Valley and NE represented as well. I think that you'd get as much or even better feel for the place by hitting a few well chosen bars.

Now we just have to work on getting our servicemen and servicewomen the right to drink beer on base again. For that matter, all active duty personnel should be able to drink anywhere!

Anyone who is old enough to die for their country is old enough to drink.

I post to WBAYDN and NBS threads, and the standard for those threads is to include pictures. Why do you care if people take pictures of their beer?

Are you advocating open container laws for service people?
