My favorite personal anecdote about Delaware - and I mean this with no disrespect - is that the first time I was driving up from Florida to Connecticut, almost 20 years ago, I had no idea I was in Delaware ... until I saw the sign, "Thank you for visiting Delaware!"

I legitimately exclaimed, "When the fuck was I in Delaware?!?"

@TongoRad sent this as my mystery beer.

@TongoRad told me I should not leave this sit until Reveal Day (10/7/18).

    I always follow orders.

I recognize the pic on the can from somewhere.

I’m gonna riff contemporaneously as I enjoy this.

First whiff after I pop the top is caramel.

And something earthy. No hops at all - none.

Pour is hazy, brownish-orange. Or orangish-brown. Rapid sudization on the head, I can hear it fizzing. Sticking around, it is.

First sip. Whoa, real caramel. But something earthy. The slightest hint of fruity hops.

A little zesty. Caramel is mellowing. Fruity hops coming forward, more sweet. No citrus. Zero.

I should guess barleywine, and this is close to a barleywine, but it’s not, IMHO. It’s like an imperial zwickelbier.

If this is an imperial zwickelbier, you all owe me a whale.

Almost done, I’m gonna head back inside for the unveiling.

PS: most importantly, this is a very enjoyable beer on a beautiful fall evening in Northern Indiana. Somewhere around the 4.10 neighborhood.

L.I.C. Cannons, a DIPA weighing in at 8.50% ABV and rated 4.12 on this site.

I really enjoyed this, @TongoRad. Too much fun trying to guess the style - and a pleasure to drink.

Excellent job- especially on that score! I remember the mouthfeel on that one being pretty smooth and rich as well. And, dammit, now you've got me craving a zwickelbock! Cheers!

I was gonna send this to my target, then I didn’t, then the box (in the background) sounded “gurgly” as I pulled it from the car, so I shipped box #1 today and will ship box #2 tomorrow or Saturday, and I think I’m gonna stick this in the box because it’s traveshamockery good, IMHO.

PS: Ranger thinks we’re all nuttier than a fruitcake. He’s not wrong.

Normal trades are what they are, these BIFs are ridiculous, freakishly large boxes of beer crossing to everywhere. If my wife only knew what this thing entailed, she already thinks I'm nuts.

I have a shadow box of all the things I drank. Only started filling up as I started drinking mroe corked beers. Caps themselves take up almost no space and do not help when trying to fill up a box

I have a full shoebox with layers of my caps. On caged ones i pull the cap out of the cage.

All new beers to me, mostly new breweries, many that I have longingly looked at from afar, some great swag, delicious pickled garlic (that I'm munching on as we speak), just amazing. Some very stout boxes (har, har) that should keep me warm all the way through the winter. Thanks so, so much!!

I've been doing just that myself. I have to use a lot of hydrogen peroxide.
