It's pretty good. Not too coconut-y and not a vanilla bomb. To be honest, I've been impressed with Monkish's stouts. Hoping for a coffee version...

After being in area and able to make releases for the past 6 days,Monkish goes and releases cans 3 hours after my flight leaves LA.
Worse was getting the twitter updates the last hour of my flight
Oh well I did pick up 4 growlers (Beats and anomaly) but would have been happy to get a growler of the milk stout as well.

Likewise, I've always liked their stouts. Can't wait to try this one in a bit.

And yeah... Cans sold out, wasn't able to snag any, still at work.

I'll be at Yorkshire Square for the next hour or so if you want to swing by and I can give you a can

... This is also a subtle plug for Yorkshire Square's barleywine release

Thats because they are now able to store and warehouse more cans due to the expansion, I was there last week when the 40 footer pulled up loaded with pallets of cans, I thought the same thing until Eric explained the ability for Monkish to store more cans now. Not saying there won't be another release tomorrow, I actually think there will be one, but it's not because you saw a bunch of pallets of cans.

    Cheers,

Guess they appeasing both the “I don’t want to wait in line” and “Yes I love lines” crowds this week

Liking these open early on can release days. Line seems to move along way faster. Went in yesterday and walked right out. Also grabbed a untitled stout growler fill after @UnknownKoger mentioned it was good. Let's see whats its all abouts

Had 2 pours last night, very smooth balanced. Thought it was gonna be a higher abv but it sits pretty nicely

Well it is a milk stout so the ABV is going to be less, I had it yesterday and really enjoyed it for what it is, it's not earthshaking but it's a well made MS.

I agree, I've had better, but as far as present rap room offerings it was a nice deviation.

I don't know why Henry can't make a really good imperial stout. I get it's probably far from his favorite style, but you would think he is another brewer. They are way too sweet, aggressively carbonated, boozy, and lacking depth.

Glad to hear the MS is better.

Deepest darkness is one of my favorite BA stouts, ever. So obviously he knows how to make an imperial stout. For whatever reason he just doesn’t do it often. I have a feeling more is coming in the future since he made his first BW not too long ago and put it in barrels. I am thinking with the cold weather will bring more stouts. Hopefully bottles of deepest darkness.

I thought it was too sweet, but to each his own. Great texture and flavors though, you right.

Henry can make really good ISs.Cousin of Death was amazing IMO, truth be told I think he’s buried in the IPA haze and for very good reason.I have been told by more than one person who I trust with knowledge within the walls of Monkish that Henry is getting IPA/DIPA fatigued. I have no idea what this means, I mean it’s his secret sauce, but I would not be surprised in the least if we see more attention to his barrel programs. I love what he does with hoppy beers but truth be told it’s time for more diversity in his offerings and I’d personally love to see and taste more diversity from Monkish, palate fatigue is setting in.

    Cheers
