Weyerbacher 23 Stout, 11.1% ABV (the weakest of five Weyerbacher beers I bought the other day). Pours dark hazy orange, with no head. Nose is malt, sweet cherry and coffee. Taste is cherry, coffee, and hops, with light bitterness. Excellent mouthfeel. Overall excellent.

 

Watching the ND game and enjoying this:

 

I read a lot of comments about how it was too guava forward when fresh. I disagree. Great minds think alike. Cheers!

I guess a three point lead is something.

The GF said the whiskey has a nice taste but is too "burny" - I assume that spelling over Bernie, who I don't know. So she has a Sweetwater Mosaic single hop hazy IPA. That's a beer.

 

Contrary to what the can says, there is no way you are immune to this - whatta delicious stout - truly bananas! Rich and dark with chocolaty malts and flavors, but with banana! Has this been done before? And with a little maple syrup accent, too.. Best part - to my tastes anyway - it isn't super-sweet - you get chocolate and bananas up front, but then it dries out into bittersweet semi-sweet dark chocolate with a light glaze of maple banana - its like a liquid chocolate maple bananas foster... Full-bodied, smooth, moderate sweetness transitions into a mild bittersweetness... Really impressed...

They should release a barrel aged version - rum barrels, specifically...

This shit is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S!

 

After being off for the past 9 days, got to go back to work tomorrow. Starting tonight off with a La Cumbre Oktoberfest.
