Stopped by The Open Bottle for Super Bean Spirit and was impressed by the hazy can options. Grabbed a 4 pack of V21 and then singles of Milkshake Nawi, Juice is Loose, Going Hazy, Crainiac, and Hands of Fate. Gotta love the splitting option at The Open Bottle

It's too far away from me to hit up much, but what's their splitting option?

Is it like Bottles & Cans, where everything they sell is fair game for singles?

Yep. I don’t know why but I felt a little guilty breaking up cans of the new hazies but I guess that’s my own neurosis haha

Does Alarmist have Les Jus to go in cans as far as anyone knows? I saw the beer itself is available but I couldn’t find clear to go options on their site

Pre GABF the fridge was wall to wall with 4 packs of Le Jus. Can't say what the medal did to them, but they usually have 4 packs of their flagship beers....I'd call before you make the trip.

Oatshaker was a solid beerm believe it is crowler only, not something to make the trip there for, but not a bad beer if you want something to drink.

Le Jus is in crowler but not cans. First time at the taproom and it’s a nice space

I went to zeros tonight to try out Foiken Haze...and they had run out of it just an hour earlier. Oh well. I did try their new strawberry milkshake IPA, and that wasn’t much of a milkshake style IMO. Had strawberry, but not enough lactose. I’m having Strawberry Marbles from More now, and this is far superior.

Tried to google, but what/where is Zeros?

I may need to make a special trip for Strawberry Marbles...

Doh...I blame spell check (and my lack of proofreading). I meant Eris, which is up on Irving Park, just a bit west of the expressway.

And I’m having Strawberry Marbles at home from the can, so no special trip for you would be needed, unless you’re standing outside my door now...you’re not, are you?

    Ha!

That's closer to me than I thought...I figured "Zeroes" was some far out suburban craft beer bar...but Eris is accessible via public transit for me!!

Neither of those two places are near me, yet I find a reason to hit at least one of them up a month purely because they are the only 2 places I know of with the "break up anything" policy.

I generally don't break up more than 2 multi-packs for this reason. Probably isn't a big deal, but I'd just feel like I'm being "that guy". From my experience, Bottles & Cans has more of what I already want broken out so it's no issue there; I've passed on getting a mixed sixer at Open Bottle before because I would have had to break up 4 or 5 multi-packs to get enough of what I was interested in to make one.

Sounds neat. Chinook hops from their on site hop farm. Like a wet hop hazy

Mentioning wet hops and hazy has me wondering, is anyone doing wet hops with the premium hops (citra/mosaic/galaxy/etc)?

Centennnial but the Penrose wet hop haze is solid

Surly finally went back to Citra this year. But I’d expect more of a classic take on that one rather than hazy

I’m unaware of a current domestic source for Galaxy, which is Australian, so we’re unlikely to see brewers with access to those wet hops. If they were available, it would be in our late spring/early summer.
