Yes, if I buy bottles or cans I can save a lot of money. But the experience would be greatly diminished. It would be like watching a concert on TV instead of actually being there.
I drink cask beer which offers an extra layer of flavour and complexity over the same beer from a can or bottle .I meet people, I go to some wonderful pubs, many of them are delightful old places.
I do not begrudge a penny of the expense .

Indeed, if someone is not aware of cognitive biases and their effects, not knowing about them or thinking one is simply immune to them is indeed mistaken and is also potentially dangerous.

However, in some cases those biasing effects can be eliminated or controlled for simply by knowing that they exist and that one is not automatically immune. In many other cases one can take appropriate steps to control for and/or prevent those biases from impacting one's thinking and behavior.

I agree here. When i was pretty young, awesome album (or awesome cassette tape art) was the only thing i had to go on to aid in my decision making. While the thought of drinking liquid shit does not appeal to me (most of the time), i can understand the marketing ploy behind things like brown note. It goes along with the way society is trending these days. Everything has to be more over the top and in your face. Comedies have to be more raunchy, horror films have to be more gory, models have to have less clothing, kids have to have tablets stuck to them at all times because they can't be without some sort of visual stimulation for any amount of time.

So yeah, back to what i was saying, i vividly remember buying a megadeth tape just because of the cover art but i have not purchased beer because of can art...yet.

Ok. Though not because of your controversial opinion. I take it that you're into kettlebell workouts so i can assume that you have very little functional strength but you can swing the shit out of some kettlebells and renegade row like there's no tomorrow!

Hence the placement in "Controversial Opinions thread". And downvote, I mean tank the rating by giving a quality beer a 2.5 or below and saying "well this really isn't for me I'm not a fan of the style." Fuck off with that shit in my opinion.
We will meet at dawn with pistols sir!

So ironic that the label is disgustingly off-putting and the beer is one of the best browns out there.

Sometimes consumers, including yourself, are not cognizant of what marketing is or is not impacting your headspace. I would argue that consciously rejecting marketing to the level you describe is in a way a bias on your decisions.

Now if I had never studied/done marketing research I might agree with you. But you’ve only your assumptions and what the marketers have told you to guide you so....

Haven't studied market research or whatever, but I never listen to what a company says about their product almost ever. So I'm definitely in agreement, not just because it aligns with how I act now, but because I've never trusted marketing haha.
Unless it's an outdoor gear brand I really trust because I've risked my life with their equipment, or fishing stuff I've used since I was a kid then I take it with a grain of salt. I want honest reviews from the people.

Beers like Gueuze or refermented on bottle do change while aging, and improve in taste after being rested for a few days/ weeks and correctly cooled

"wind you up" is like a baby troll stroke, as an admission. I like it.
I dealt with a great number of brewers and winery owners through the years, and packaging was often inherited, invented/re-invented, ruined, sometimes clever, down right beautiful and elegant, really stupid, or understated and informative, and I could go on...A consumers first relationship with a product is likely the packaging. It is vitally important. I spoke of brand building decades ago, and it's all more true than ever.
