I wonder how many folks ever bought Old Milwaukee just because of this series of commercials?

Damn fine brown ale. Flavorful but balanced; perfect for all 4 seasons.

I wonder how many who comment here about their awareness of the overt and covert influences of beer marketing are aware that this site and all its contents are beer marketing? I liken the trolls on this site to the bitter beer face imported beer lovers portrayed in the old (Budweiser? Miller? Coors?) commercials.

no point in bragging. I have a 1450 total at 255 which is stronger than most, but I am a fat natty daddy who plays with atlas stones more than kettlebells these days

My point still stands. Monkish is all hype! Here to Fish collab with half acre was real fuckin good though

IIRC, it was one of Coors' "bargain" brands. I can see the commercial in my head, but the details are slipping past.

Maybe the Brewers Association could revamp those ads to help sell even moar Murkbombs?

Can you lift, turn, and set down 40 pounds, for 8 hours? Ya know, usable, real life, ability? Get out of the gym bro, and do some real lifting.

On topic, beer is full of carbs, perfect for pre or post work(out).

Yeah, those were ads for Keystone - at the time, Coors' first and, at the time (mid-1990s) only, "bargain" brand.

(Actual commercials can also be found online, but I figure the still is annoying enough.)

I guess it was "successful" since so many people remember it and it became a commonly used phrase in popular culture (even when not discussing beer but someone making a "face" in general).

More successful than Coors' first ad campaign for Keystone in 1989, which had the "Huh?" slogan of:

Haha I guess breweries are kind of like beer factories, but I don't imagine your apology is necessary.

I remember those bitter beer ads. I think it's funny now so many IPAs are intentionally made super bitter.

B-wizzle, love it! Although I'd probably get glassed for using millennial language at my local.
As one of the rather more jingoistic Brits on here I have to say I love a hopped up B-wizzle.

Probably not a controversial opinion, but I do enjoy/admire the marketing of Bud and BudLight. Watching football Sunday I caught the “mead guy to the stockade” Bud Light commercial and the new one pushing barrel aged Budweiser during the same break.

    Dilly Dilly !

Certainly a respectable 3 lift total.

    Real lifting? You're a knob.

That commercial just reinforces that if you decide to break the norm, you'll be punished. Kind of a funny but disturbing message to be sending.

I miss the magic fridge commercial.

I took it as, if you decide to be a pain in the ass when someone's buying you a drink, you'll be punished, but that might just be me.

Probably more of the vibe they wanted.

Just funny that they already have drinks in hand and more available, but decide to snap at the idea of something unique/different.

There's a reason you felt douchey posting your deadlift numbers and shit brah... it's also nice to know i have a neckbeard!

That reminds me of the schlitz gay commercial from snl with chris farley and adam sandler. Classic!

    HAHAHAHA!!!
