This is my impression as well.

I haven't been there in several weeks now, so maybe things have changed. However, when last I was there, I was told that usually they have cans available by 1:00 the Monday after the release (but they couldn't make any guarantee about that). Consequently, I always call first before heading over there (if picking up cans is the main reason I'm heading over to the pub).

IMHO, this is very similar and consistent with the Saturday schedule. Usually they sell cans until at 1:00 or 1:30, but there are no guarantees. As long as there are people in line, they'll stay open (assuming they don't run out of cans to sell). There's no way to really predict how long that will be on any given Saturday.

So I get the impression that this isn't the type of Saturday can line where I need to be in line at 6am to get some cans?

You assume correctly. There may be a bit of a line right at noon, but my understanding is that it usually moves pretty quickly and waits to obtain cans aren't particularly long. That's based on what I've read in previous posts in this thread (I've never bothered to attend a release event).

    Latest Friday update:

Happy Friday Everyone! Welcome to Fall Equinox and the first rain of the Autumn season. We’re expecting some super exciting news to launch real soon… So stay tuned for our Bourbon Barreled Double Stack announcement (Nov/Dec) and the opening of our new location in early 2019!

Here’s what’s cool to note this wk:

    1. Can Release: This Saturday, October 6th at 12 noon at 2444 NW 28th, we will be releasing Full Grown. Sorry Mrs. Jackson, we haven't made a sick new DIPA in a long time...We are for REAL. 10% real. So yes, it's true, we made two beers inspired by Outkast. Puppy Love was a cute lil' Session IPA and Full Grown is, of course a BIG 10% DIPA. We dry hopped this beer with a heavy hand using a blend of Simcoe, Vic Secret, and Citra. "You say it's puppy love... we say it's FULL GROWN!" We also may have limited quantities of Mango Coconut Mochi, Puppy Love and Wiggle for sale.
    2. Boo Berry Muffin: Do y’all remember this scary gem from last Halloween? Well, it’s coming back mid-month and we’re brewing 8 times as much as last year with a dope new beer label!

    3. Changing States: Come try our Pilsner! We were super nervous to brew one of the most classic of classic styles of crispy clean lager. We’d love your feedback as we move forward with an India Pale Lager in the near future and other lager styles, trying our hands at some non-haze, non-adjunct beers.
Thank you everyone for reading this far and also for being the best beer-drinker fans in the universe. We love y'all!!!

Probably, but you never know. Some things stick around a bit longer than others, and if they're making that much of it this time around, there might still be cans at the brewpub when you get here. Even if the cans are gone, you might be able to try it on tap if you stop by the pub during your visit.

Not sure why, but Belmont Station had some Puppy Love cans and quite a few of one of the Mochi beers (I'm assuming the one that was released the same day as puppy love.) It would be interesting if we start seeing these show up regularly in stores.

I wonder if it wasn't moving fast enough at the brewery and they made a deal with Belmont to help reduce inventory quicker. Seeing it out at the retail level is awfully nice, not complaining.

I picked up the mochi pineapple coconut thing at Belmont. Certainly an interesting beer, and as usual the described flavors were front and center. wouldnt ever drink more than a can or two as it tastes like sherbert mixed with beer.

Heads up for GRAPE LOTION fans on the west side: Orenco Taphouse is doing "Great Notion Humpday" this Wednesday:

Come by this Wednesday to take home any of the following:
    • WIGGLE a fun new NEIPA with over 6 lbs of hops per bbl. Double dry hopped with Nelson, Simcoe, & Citra hops.
    • PUPPY LOVE The little Brother to Full Grown DIPA. Brewed to be an easy drinking beer with a bold hop character. "You say it's Puppy Love, we say it's full grown"
    • FULL GROWN Puppy Love is a cute lil' Session IPA, and Full Grown is of course a big DIPA. Dry hopped with a heavy hand using a blend of Simcoe, Vic Secret, & Citra.
    • MANGO COCONUT MOCHI A new offering from an experimental series of IPA's, this beer was fermented with toasted rice, flaked oats, mangoes, and hundreds of lbs of coconut. Does NOT contain milk sugar.
OH and we'll be tapping a keg of their delicious KEY LIME PIE A Refreshing and tart beer brewed with Key Limes, vanilla beans, coriander, sea salt, brown sugar & lactose.

I might have to drop by and check out that Key Lime Pie beer. Mm hm.

OK, I've only had a couple GLs brews, and liked them, and they are certainly a welcome addition to the NW beerscape, but FFS, can whoever writes these things for them step away from the legal weed at least one day a week? When @John_M C&Ps the weekly email from GL, I get a new aneurysm every week. If ya have to try that hard to be cool, ya ain't cool.

Just finishing a 13 hour work day, and only on my 3rd brew. Carry on, as y'all were.

To me, the beer descriptions sound like pure GL.

I hear you Terry. When I post the weekly newsletter, I try to remove some of more over the top self promoting descriptions of their beer and facility, as I have a similar reaction. Honestly, I think they're just trying to come across as funny and playful, but I agree it gets to be a bit much at times. At least for me.

Yeah, I hope I'm not just seeming to be a "hater", and, lord knows I've enjoyed my share of illegal weed in my life (and remain the largest supporter of legal weed. It's silly that legality is even still an issue), but, their weekly posts give weed users a bad image.
