Jealous of anyone going today. The combo of those two cans today is awesome. Never wouldve guessed we’d get an Oktoberfest. Cheers and enjoy the day if you’re going.

Is this the 1st anniversary event without a crazy tap list?

Went to Kane for my first time today, really cool spot, not super crowded. I loved the Galaxy Punch which was something I previously thought was kinda out of their wheelhouse. Grayscale was also fantastic, although given that its a partigyle of ANTEAD that shouldn't surprise me.

    Me either.
I was disappointed. I figured the Octoberfest would hang around awhile

I drank both of my bottles first chance I got. Which was this past weekend, with two different groups of people. I never really understood waiting unless you drink one right away and then take copious notes and then drink the other one much later and have some frame of reference for comparison, I guess. Doesn't really seem to be any point to waiting to drink of delicious beer that I've been trying to get my hands on for 5 years.

In any event I can report that it is absolutely fantastic and well worthy of all praise. Fantastic bourbon aroma but then does not overpower the flavor. Perfect combination of chocolate and raisin flavors with just a hint of bitterness. But then does not stick to your tongue and is not cloyingly sweet. Finishes cleaner than any beer of its style I can remember. And no alcohol burn at all.

Last year they didnt have one. This year they did do a nice tap list of the actual anniversary day, when Black Tie Optional was released.

Bummed the Marzen is out, they both were there when I got my bottles but didnt buy any b/c I have so much beer. Was going hoping to get a 4 this weekend for an Oktoberfest party

Does Kane not tap their newly released beers the same day cans are release to sell more cans? I get it - business and all - but it would be nice to try before I buy. Or is there another reason I'm not aware of?

idk, my personal thought is that it took me many years to get this beer - and it isn't going anywhere. So may as well save it for a more special/celebratory occasion than cracking it just to crack it. perhaps holidays surrounded by friends/family.

but again - that's my thoughts on it. those 2 bottles aren't going anywhere.

I don’t think it’s a policy, they’ve had it on tap/for growlers on the same day in the past. My guess is they’re just very busy and have a lot to coordinate so it hasn’t worked out the past few weekends. Either that or they want to get through their stock of beers that were already released.

There have been times when something goes up the day of. Last time I can remember myself being there and it happened was the Troon collab. something kicked and it went up. I assume it has more to do with if something kicks that day or not. I am sure they have done it more times than once since last Nov too. I think usually they will be up the following day on Sunday more times than it on Sat and then usually the next weekend as well.

So if the overhead that I picked up at the brewery this past week was canned on August 24th that means it's time to start distributing at this point right?
