Sand City Brewing (2018)

Was initially planning to go to Other Half to grab some cans today, but changed my mind at the last minute and decided to go to Sand City with no regrets. These batches of Best Seat in the House and Putting Out Fires are great.

 

Tasting fantastic now, this beer is as good as all the best in the area.

Wondering what size crowd this will draw and how long these cans will last.

 

I don’t plan on lining up before opening for this, but I will be keeping an eye on it with full intentions of driving up around the time they open so I get there when the line clears out. Hopefully it will be enough.

If you guys are planning on going - let me know. I’ll hang around the tap room for a beer (it’s better than watching the shitty god damn Jets).

 

I’ll show up at 11 and hope for the best. Worst case scenario, I’ll have 3 on tap.

 

Dunno man, Sand City is kind of digging their own grave here by making this a pre-annouced, sale at opening kind of release. I'm not really sure what they expected here. They have to know at this point you can't rely on beer people to police themselves, especially when this is a one time, limited release.

It could have been avoided numerous ways. I'm kind of shocked they're pushing their luck here.

 

I am thinking the same thing. But given the problems they have had with the town, I would have to figure they had to get approval to do this. But we all survived without having to line-up for Sand City beer, there was never a reason to line-up to begin with. Would hate to see them regress with Sunday releases, but I suspect (hope) this is a one off thing.

And if they do have problems Sunday, they have no one to blame but themselves, beer a**holes cant be trusted to do the right thing, having a Sunday line for anniversary beers only encourages people, regardless of what you post on social media about drinking on line.

 

Really shocked they're doing this on a Sunday, and will draw a line of idiots again. They've been doing great for so long without the dumb weekend lines. Let's hope they don't get shut down again! I'll be in Burlington grabbing plenty of awesome beers this weekend, so no FOMO for me here

 

The more I think of this it is a stupid idea, even if they have approved with the town, exposing themselves to bad behavior and people in the town who may be upset/disturbed by a crowd of people on the street is not worth any risk. #linelife is dead, resucitating it is a bad idea. They just should have silent released these beers are over a staggered period of time. Everyone would have gotten their beer with no lines. Making your loyal customers wait in line for beer for no good reason is not a good way to reward loyalty.

 

That is what I was assuming they were going to do. I would say we can just all skip it and send a message but there are plenty of dudes out there who love lining up, talking about Treehouse for most of the time, maxing out, and then trading 3/4 of it away.

Yep, can't blame instagram but SC themselves. They've posted again yesterday and this monring and are really playing up up.... Not cool IMHO.

Im hoping to swing in at 10 and graba few and go. Can't imagine the line scenario nor idiots at 10AM. Shit, its 10 AM sunday AM, everyone on line should have a cup of coffee and STFU as the line moves.....

 

There's supposedly already 50+ in line. I just got out of work and was gonna head out there, but I'm really not looking to stand in line for an hour+ when I have to be back at work tonight.

Oh well...looks like I'll be trading for a can or two.
