I lived in Schaumburg a while back. The food was bad. The beer was meh. It's basically a Ruby Tuesday with the same beer being brewed nonstop. They had a golden goose with Shaun. They could have told Shaun, hey we want to brew your recipes at all our locations.

Man, what could have been. Imagine a world where you can just walk into a brewery and drink Shaun's beer.

Nothing interesting joints thrive in Schaumburg. Over 10+ years is a great run for a generic slighly different sports bar.

They did nothing interesting to you perhaps but you are assuming everyone who went there felt the same. I'll give a wild ass guess that 75%+ of the Schaumburg Ram customers couldn't tell you what Juicy or Chaos was. It was a restaurant which also happened to be a brewery. It just tired out after a long time in a very restaurant competitive area.

Bullshit. I went in there twice when I lived in the area. Wait staff were literally leaning on the walls. There were maybe 6 dudes at the bar watching sports and 2 tables with guests.

Fast forward to the Shaun releases and every seat was taken and there was a wait for a table. I don’t think ANYONE cared about that place and then Shaun started packing them in.

Went there twice. Great sample size.
So then how did they stay in business for ~15 years before he became head brewer? Listen I'm not discounting he brought butts into seats but to say they went out of business solely because he left is a bit much imo.

The landscape changed around them. Within a 3 mile radius Kumas Corner, Bigby’s, and the Beer Market opened. All with better food and more modern approaches to craft beer. So yeah probably didn’t close just because Shaun left but they had a secret weapon and they let it go.

RAM is the definition of a boring bar. Bland as can be. And yes, this is my opinion Jaycase.

Miller's and Granite City too. Also both boring, but directly competing with Ram and in more visible locations.

My stout prediction for the weekend was obviously wrong. But I guess the "goodies" they have planned for this weekend include the Galaxy-heavy collab with Hop Butcher

Yea wish it was the usual Friday release. If I can walk in a little after open and get a 4 pack I will but I don't think I'm willing to stand in line for this.

Think this goes to the point of a bottle share down the Great Western Trail? I think it’s possible with Frooted on a Saturday

Does anybody know how long 4pks usually last at these releases? I’d like to go, but my girlfriend won’t get off of work until noon. Will it last all day or just until 2-3? Thanks!
