‘17 was Delicious man. I enjoyed it more than BBT but that might get me some Trash talk but damn I enjoyed Maman ‘17
BBT came in 1st and Maman '17 came in 7th in a black glass blind tasting w 6 tasters, for whatever thats worth. Gold Assassin and OG Rare rounded out top 3.
I’ve been able to do BBT & Maman 17 blind twice head to head with 3-4 ppl and Maman has been the winner for everyone so far. It was much closer the last time though as BBT is starting to mellow some as it was a little too hot fresh, imo.
Nice! This is one of the rare times I mention blind tasting results and don't have my head chewed off. We've gotten a lot of pushback from folks w Maman in their cellars but this is the first time I cared cause you pointed out yr own blind results. Kudos, blind is the ONLY way to rank that matters! In ours, 4/6 picked it #1. One difference is if you did head-to-head and sometimes it's easy to pick out which is which, which can bias the results. In ours we had 11 bottles which we hope make it hard to guess. Can't wait to find another couple bottles and give it another shot.
I can for sure see how BBT would surpass if a couple ounces each and tasting that many beers at once as the barrel character would jump out from BBT, especially when fresh. Would love to hear your thoughts with an 8-10 ounce pours of each to do head to head. Two world class beers for sure.
Sounds perfect! Lets agree you do our methodology and we do yalls methodology next time and we'll report back and see what kind of conclusions we can make then. #goscience
