That band is from southwestern Norway, which @joe1510 refers to as: "What Minnesota tried to copy, but completely failed."

Outstanding sour. Aromas and flavors of tart/sour lemon, lime, ginger, orange, peach, pear, red/green apple, melon, white grape/wine, berry, hay, straw, and grass; with moderate honey, wheat, cracker malts; light lacto funk and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate lactic tartness, and light yeast/ginger spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-moderate body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Balanced grainy wheat, lactic acid, and light sticky ginger spice in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic dryness. No puckering. Very flavorful/refreshing, 4.5%. Never overly lactic. Really impressive for a kettle sour! Great fruity lacto complexity, moderate ginger/honey flavors, and solid pale/wheat malts against acidity. Will get more singles as I have been, the apple rhubarb gose was similarly impressive.

One of my favorite milk/sweet stouts. Big flavors of milk chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, strawberry, cream, caramel, toast, light coffee, and light herbal/floral hops. Balanced bittersweet roast and earthy hops; great creamy/silky medium bodied mouthfeel, and smooth finish. Hope they bring back the BBA version again; it really enhances the overall ice cream vibe of this beer, but the base beer is still completely excellent, and a far better price.

Honestly it tastes like what I expected CBS to taste like last year. I'm getting much more maple on this one.

Woah. Just finished up my review. Very much enjoying this, although I see where the "too sweet" comments come from.

That said, I'll probably pick up another 4 pack. Good work, Founders.

It would be easy to pass over this for other good, local beers. Still, I'm feeling like I want another 4 pack of this in my cellar. But how many unknown 4 packs do I have in my cellar? Probably too many....

Yes! The maple syrup on this is great, although perhaps that's why it's called 'too sweet'. At this point in time, I'd trade out my last bottles of CBS for more bottles of Curmudgeon's Better Half. :astonished:

I'll sip through the whole four pack before I fully commit to that claim, but about half a glass in and that's what I'm considering.
