I've always really enjoyed it with 1-2 years of age. I've also slowly been putting together a vertical to try for fun with some friends...cheap and easy to get together.

    Current state of the shelves:

Mostly stouts and barleywines on the top shelf, with Revolution stuff and sours on the second, with some 4-packs of KBS and a bunch of whiskeys lurking in the back.

Below that, mostly stouts on the next shelf, stuff that rotates more frequently. Below that, Bruery, Deschutes, FSW, Olde Hickory and Foothills, since I used to live in NC and on the west coast. Behind those are some things that are being aged more long-term, like Thomas Hardy's, MoAS, a w00tstout vertical, and Omega Point.

At the bottom is the Clown Shoes' shelf. Behind that row are a bunch of other long-term agers, stuff like World Wide Stout and 120 Minute from DFH, Avery sours, and small verticals of stuff like Bigfoot, Backwoods Bastard, and Black Note.

Lighter things best consumed fresh tend to hide behind the Taxman Evasions or simply stay upstairs nearer the fridge.

Nice! I think I remember your pics from a few months Back...At least I remember the Collage 2. What does the temperature down there range from in summer and winter?

It's a standard Midwest basement "cellar," meaning the room isn't 100% below ground and has a small egress window near the ceiling for emergencies. As a result, it has a bit more temperature and humidity variability than I might like, going from around 52 F in winter to 64 F today when it was in the 90s outside. For those who have dealt with similar conditions, are there any reasonable options for keeping it under 60 F year-round that don't involve sealing off the egress or adding an enclosure with a dedicated cooling unit?

Also, that Collage #2 is killer, definitely my favorite beer Deschutes has produced that I've been privileged enough to drink!

Indeed. I was lucky to have my parents score me a few bottles of Collage while in Portland. One of my favorites. Your temps sounds great @darktronica ... Mine range from 55 in the winter to mid to upper 70's in the summer.. I keep everything I'm holding onto for a while in 2 fridges setup at 52 degrees...But i'll be honest, I've kept stouts and Belgians out on my shelves for a year plus with that temp fluctuation and I've never noticed any thing off...

New fridge for the kitchen means a sizable upgrade for the beer fridge. Almost out of room already.

Enjoy that P57. The best tasting coconut stout I've had the pleasure of drinking.

Nice! But all of your cork & cage bottles need to be upright.

You talking about the one in the drawer? If so, it was there for about 2 days, then drank.

Here you go. We just finished our wine/beer cellar. There are blackout shades that drop to help with light and insulation.

That's beautiful man. Would you mind sharing some details on the cooling unit. It direct vents outside I assume...I noticed that drain hose for condensation, how much do you get in a day or week?

    Thanks for sharing

It is a CellarCool 3300. We went up one larger unit than recommended. The air actually circulates in through the wall and then out above the cellar. We added a fan to make sure the air moves through.

The water fills up about once per week. I'm somewhat annoyed our contractor didn't run a drain (we did our whole basement). The plan is to put a couple empty wooden wine cases there to hide the bucket.

Just the Stout fridge. Thought it looked nice at this time of year. Holler if you'd like to see the sour fridge :3
