I'll be in Farmington on training course from Oct 15 to 19 around noon. From what I have noticed most if not all breweries only open Thursday. So where do I go Thursday nigt? Relic, New park, Fox farm is quite a bit further away. Also any beer bars and bottle shop recommendations in the area for the rest of the week are more than welcome. Thanks!

You'd make it to Counterweight quicker than you'd make it to Fox Farm... I'd hit up New Park on Thursday if you don't mind the prices. Harvest Wine and Spirits is your best bet for a store in West Hartford

Hmmm...counter weight shows live music Wednesday. Thanks for the added option!

Yeah if you just want a great selection of CT breweries then Harvest is your best choice!

If you're looking to get out of your hotel room earlier in the week, New England Brewing is open Tuesday. Just a quick shot down 91 to Rt 15.

In addition to the the above:

Five Churches in New Britain is open on Mondays. Probably 15 minutes from you. Good beer & pizza. No cans to go, only growlers.

Relic is sometimes open on Wednesdays with a can release, follow them on Instagram or FB.

New Park has great beer, but generally won't have cans on a Thursday. And you have to buy their growlers, can't fill your own.

Lasting Brass in Watertown has great beer, about 30 minutes from Farmington.

Thanks for the suggestions! Looks like Harvest for sure. Nebco Tuesday May be a good option too!

    Was planning 5 churches Monday.
Relic Wednesday would be nice. I'll keep an eye on that.
Probably do New Park for pints Thursday.
Never heard of Lasting Brass will look them up. Thanks!

Not sure when you leave Friday, but OEC while not technically open will often have someone around to sell beer if you call ahead of time. I've done it a few times and bought a few bottles.

    Thanks.
Leaving at noon Friday and planning to go straight to Treehouse on the way home. Hopefully it's not too crazy there...

Lasting Brass just added Thursday 5-9 to their hours of operation and should have cans of two IPAs and one sour to go. Check their Beer Menus.

Fox Farm is 10000% worth going a bit out of your way for, and if you can only hit one of the places mentioned in this thread, I'd make that it.

Have you been recently, sully? They've been terribly inconsistent every time we go. Nice spot though, good friendly local crowd and good eats make up for the beer for someone that's local, but I think a visitor from out of state need not trek up to Granby for it. Just my opinion...

Thanks for all the input, even though it's getting tougher to decide...
But just found out I will be there for another week training course in November, so more chance to check these places out.
Liking the look of Lasting Brass!

Hmmm...havent been in a few years. Over an hour drive for me. I remember the food being pretty solid each time.
Appreciate the updated input, sounds like you may be right for out of state visit. My thought was convenience of food with local beer and geography.

I would have bet $100 that it was something insurance related. Your answer is much more exciting.
