Homebrew Raspberry-Lime Gose.

 

Update. Still drinking additional Hofbrau Oktoberfest. # 5 I think

 

My lovely bride is drinking wine. I think this may be may last beer. Will it be my last drink? I know you all pray it will be so.

 

Happy Friday gang. Just finished cleaning around the homestead. Time to join y’all with a brew. This is Hubbard’s Cave Fresh IIPA V1 with centennial, citra and columbus. Cheers all!

Unfortunately no beer tonight. My cold riddled body calls for a hot toddy. Weller reserve bourbon in it, tasty medicine

 

Founders Curmudgeon's Better Half, 12.7% ABV. Pours medium brown with a one finger off-white head that dissipated quickly, leaving slight lacing. Nose is not much, some slight maple sweetness. Taste is quite complex, sweet maple and moleasses, a bit of caramel, dark fruit, some bourbon burn, and a slight bitter close. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding. Glad I bought a 4-pack, but on the fence regarding buying more.

Moderate pour yields a 3/4 inch off white (very light tan) head over a very dark (almost black) body with some sticky lacing. Nose of raspberries first and foremost. After it warms a bit, some dark malt comes forward with a little brett funk also. Taste of raspberry and the tiniest bit of bitter chocolate. There is some brett tartness also. Very nice feel and overall, a real nice dark sour ale. Cheers!

Beer night is over. Moved on. My lovely bride and I are enjoying one of the two takes outs from the bar. This one is called Low Country Shrimp with Andouille Sausage. Yes and wine. Sue me.

 

Transient Cromulent

 

Giving a try to the localist of locals for me. Creative Creature Brewing opened a quarter mile from my house in the old El Cajon brewing spot (San Diego burb).

Tried two IPAs and a Triple IPA so far, not very good. Hopefully their spurs and stouts are better. If they’re anything like the IPAs this place will close faster than ECB did.
