Yup, the car series rotates I think. I loved this beer! Veil puts out alot of good stuff but also a fair amount of just ok beers too. The stuff that I've tried from Triple Crossing has been consistently awesome.

 

A couple guys in my local share group have been fixated on Veil recently - exactly as you say, many good beers... many "okay" beers as well.

Did you happen to have any of the BA Pallbearer, Dan? Friends swear that's one of the best new beers they've ever had - in terms of thickness and in terms of value, apparently.

 

Unfortunately I missed that one. I got to try PB Hornswoggler and Toast-e Coilz. Hornswoggler was good but Toast-e was wayyy too sweet (and I'm not normally someone who has that problem with beers).

 

I agree, the only ones that have been hit and miss with me are the TIPAs for the most part.

 

I've had gripes with all of their dark beers, honestly - the balance is way, way off. My first beers of theirs were Misery Wizard and Honey Nut Jeppio's. Misery Wizard was delicious, but a mess of too many adjuncts. Jeppio's was a sopping, syrupy mess. Several of the others I've had have exhibited a TON of barrel, which isn't my favorite thing. They just don't seem to have a very good concept of moderation.

But, their beers are definitely an experience. I've liked quite a few. Plus, some of their artwork creeps me the fuck out. This is always an achievement.

 

I read Toast-e Coilz as something to do with e-coli, and was thinking that I'd probably pass...

 

I think you just found the next adjunct fad. We already have sugar, vanilla, cocoa, coffee, cinnamon...its only a matter of time before flour and eggs come into the mix.

 

As of 9:45 this morning, both of my boxes were at the local post offices. Hopefully that means they will be delivered sometime today rather than waiting for tomorrow.

 

Check your porches/garages. Both boxes have been delivered.

Poking one bear for sure. But it'll be worth it. The other went to someone who hasn't gotten anything extra in either of the two rounds we've done so far, but probably should have sooner than this.

 

Well well well, I come home from work get in the house getting ready to do a few things and then the wife texts me. "Hey you got a box I put it in the living room, I am sure it's more beer". I am thinking no way, we settled that war in NBS right @FFFjunkie , @Vidblain ??? I should not have a box of beer, I have no where to put it!!!!! I look at the box, no return address I assume the truce in NBS did not hold. I start to unpack the beers and I find the below letter.



The only upside to this is my wife will get some **** tonight

I made mention earlier in this BIF about Woodcock Brewing and apparently mr @bstoos decided to send me some much appreciated beers from Buffalo.

Brian at the bottom of your note you mention you may have made a mistake, you did!!! I really appreciate this box and it was probably the most unexpected ninja box I have ever gotten. you can expect a "little" ninja headed your way when you least expect it!! Thanks man I am pumped to try these all.

Enjoy. I think my wife has been happy with the net loss of beer from our house this month. I didn't even think to check if you had had Hop Commander before. I was shooting for all beers you hadn't tried. At least you like it, so I don't feel as bad.

 

All good, I am excited to try them all. It has been a couple of years since I had Hop Commander it was in the bottle. You really got me on this one!! I will have the last laugh though.
