    Understanding that you run this to try to drive more participation in NBS, I think it comes down to what your strategy is. I think there are two ways to go:

    1- have no NBS posting requirements, but hope that by engaging people in this BIF they start visiting the NBS thread.
    2- create specific NBS requirements as the "price" of entering the BIF and hope people stick around.

    I've noticed a bit of recruiting in the Rookies BIF using tactic 2: You think this BIF is crazy, the NBS BIF is insane! You just have to start posting in NBS to join!

    Either way, H&H participation is critical and really like 90% of the fun.

    A mentoring program would be a great idea! I would sign up to mentor/ vouch for a new member next round.

    Sure, throw me in if you need another person. If you get two others, no worries.

    Can't believe anybody is gonna pick the Stros after last night's AWESOME win thanks to the glove of former Razorback do-it-all Benny Baseball. What a catch. What a game.

    I'll go with the Sox over LA in 5 games.

    Ooh I like that idea. After all, if someone's already an active participant in NBS, it shouldn't be difficult to get someone to vouch for them!

    It's true, though. Compare either Houston or Boston to anyone the NL can trot out this year. It's not even close.

    Doesn't mean the Dodgers couldn't win, or the Brewers. The best team does not always win. But there's no doubt the best two teams in the majors are both playing in the ALCS.

    I only got four hours of sleep because of that game but man, I'd do it all again. What a freaking game. I was screaming like a madman in my basement, luckily didn't wake anyone up (that I know of).

    I like the idea of someone vouching for a new person. Sometimes it is hard to poke someone not participating but if the new person knows the person that vouched for them will do this if needed it is much easier for everyone especially the non participants target.
