It’s an unfiltered west coast IPA.

I’m not sure why Pizza Port isn’t at the top of this list. Swami is always available, typically fresh, on shelves, and Fish is pretty damn good too. I dont know of a hazy they have done. I think the thing when referencing West Coast IPA, is that the best are on shelves. It’s in plain site. Union Jack is another amazing example. Simple, Lagunitas IPA is some of the best West Coast IPA when fresh. It is everywhere. Societe in southern CA kills it. The new beer community is too focused on what’s new. West Coast IPA isn’t gone. It’s so big that it’s on every shelf, every tap, and in every dads fridge.

if we're talking about hype about the latest beers, just based on economics, it's harder for me to get motivated to pay $18-20 for a 4 pack of west coast IPA when there's perfectly good local options at the $12-13 range on the shelves like Beechwood, Pizza Port, El Segundo, 3 Weavers, or for even cheaper, old reliable Sierra Nevada Torpedo or whatever SN IPA is available.

Modern Times Orderville is the only good shelfie hazy IPA in the $12-13 range that I see so if I'm going to spend the bucks for a local 4 pack it's going to be hazy more often than not

Ummmm, I think Space Ways is a $12 world class hazy shelfy, maybe the best ever.

Well the only good Bruts I've had were either from the creator of them (Social Kitchen) or in collaboration with them. Just like a lot of hazies are still garbage, but the ones who do them well are exceptional.

We wouldn't be having this discussion if these guys were still around. Photo taken May 2013 but sadly it seems like an eternity ago. Also known to the OG Alpine crew as the holy trinity.
