I don't know that I could pick one. That's like picking my favorite single origin coffee. A cup of Kenyan coffee is delightful on a warm spring morning, but likewise, I want a hearty Guatemalan coffee during the darkness of winter, or after a frigid Sunday morning run.

Each and everyone has their place, both in a single hop or single origin cup and a blend.

    EAST KENT GOLDINGS

Extremely overlooked these days. It’s so complex and versatile in large and small additions.

I wonder how many new hops have come out up since this thread started 2 1/2 years ago.

Let me add I'm also likening moasic hops quite a bit, I've had some beers that I didn't like, I thought them cat pissy. But I've had some beers recently that were phenominal. So basically I like every hop out there, cant think of one that I wouldn't drink as a single entry.

Damn shame that cascade isn’t on the poll. The hop that basically built the American IPA.

Galaxy for peach and melon notes, and Mosaic for raspberry. I also like Huell Melon and Citra.

That being said, I like more traditional hops too and the piny/herbal/lemony notes they bring. Depends on the style of beer.

Citra is still up there, but Nelson is my jam lately.

Of the hops listed I chose Mosaic. It is a hop capable of a wide range of flavors. But I am also old school that is a fan of East Kent Golding and the various C-hops. I am not a fan of Citra especially if it used solo. Tastes like oranges that have turned bad. I can tolerate it if used in a blend. Summit is another hop that I do not like (onions).

I found the IPA's I like the most are those which got Simcoe.

Gotta huge weak spot for Amarillo. Cascade/Centennial should've definitely made the list. As should've Simcoe. Other than that, if you don't like Goldings and Hallertauer, you just don't like beer.

Does anyone else have a hard time swallowing more than a few ounces of Nelson or mosaic? Something about that grape(Nelson) or dark berr(mosaic) taste make a beer taste very heavy. I love a good juicy IIPA but I’d prefer it in the citrus or melon end of the spectrum. Galaxy, motueka, and yes even Citra when used in conjunction with others like Simcoe or Amarillo can be great. There’s 5 hops I like and 2 I avoid like a plague. Please tell me if anyone else feels remotely how I feel regarding mosaic and Nelson Sauvin

I think Nelson is a little harder to pull off, but when it’s done well it’s really crazy! Nelson is one of those hops that needs another hop or two, or a certain grain to balance it out.

Mosaic has proven it can stand alone, but my palate right now does find it kind of aggressive and generic, as it is so commonly used today.

Citra now goes in practically every IPA I brew. I've never made a bad batch with citra in some shape or form. If it ain't broke don't fix it right?

As for exotic hops though, Galaxy is the most potent and easily detectable with its sugary-sweet passion fruit notes.

Simcoe is now growing on me, and though I mostly get dank and pot flavors from my brews with it, I've had some excellent brews from other folks who know what they're doing better than I do that extract some marvelous apricot and melon flavors.

Noble Hops also get my vote though, love me some Perle and Crystal in every "medium style beer" (aka not Stout or IPA).
