I think it was something fun the guy doing the website and labels was doing. Then he left TG, the site changed and they made their new logos and stuff so I think it just all went away. It was a fun scavenger hunt online, but I don't think it lead to a release, golden ticket or anything like that.

Interesting - I thought it lead to some secret prize or something but could be misremembering. Makes sense it died off due to turnover

Could have predicted it would be the 15th. TG seems to, intentionally or not, schedule some releases on the same date that Pulpit Rock has something going on. I guess in the end it’s actually good for Puplit, just seems odd.

I'm bummed they're not going to have it on tap. For $100 it would be nice if you at least got a 5 ounce pour of it.

That being said, I'll still try to get a ticket. I've never had it before, and I sort of have to know.

I wonder if 1 12oz bottle is the inflection point to where this won't sell out immediately, seems insane to me.

I have been expecting the $100 bottle. I figured it would be 22oz though. At $8.33 an ounce this is rough. I can get 10 year aged bourbon at a bar for this price.

WOOF $$. Even the tweets don't seem to have the same circle-jerk hype machine tone to them this time around. Maybe it is finally getting tiring to try and whip up a feeding frenzy over a $100 "wax-dipped, hand-numbered" thimble of beer.

I'd love to try this beer someday, but driving 5+ hours in mid-December to pay $100 for a 12 ounce beer seems to be above what I'm willing to do. Combine that with the usual headache of actually trying to even get tickets with an online sale like this, and I'm pretty sure I'll be passing.

Hell, had a 12yo at $5 just last night...at a restaurant that overcharges for every conceivable liquid.

This could be the straw that breaks the neckbeard's back. I will have to take a hard pass on this.

I highly doubt it. When it comes to hype pastry stouts, money is never a concern for the true neckbeardboys. I think it would have to be in the $250+ range to really deter buyers.
