I didn't hear a specific date but was told it's in the bottle and they are currently waxing and then labeling them. Should be soon.

When i first looked at them that is what I thought, and I was think "meh" I have some of those. However, I like the labeling, and it would be nice to drink BT out of a BT glass. Plus I have given away so many of my Stone glasses and one was broken during a recent tasting I think I only have 1 or 2 now. I am planning on going next year so hopefully they have some form of glasses again. I swear my glass collecting is almost as bad as my beer collecting. It would be cool if they do the logo BT glasses on miniature snifters.

The funny thing is that those glasses hold like 4 ounces, so it'd take a bunch to polish off a BT. And I was excited about them using these, because they make a nice set with the sourfest ones, and I now have a good set of identical glasses to use for tastings at my place.

Also, while it would be cool for them to do mini-snifters, based on the number of remaining glasses and the fact that they packed them all back up rather than hand them out at random at the end of the night, I expect them to re-use these ones, at least next year. Though you never know!

If you want a cool mini-snifter, though, come to the Bistro Barrel Aged Festival. <2 weeks away!

Man, this makes me miss OC all the more. Bananas Foster and Coffee BT? Yum. I'm crossing my fingers that they'll bottle the coffee variant for RS/HS next year though.

Not that exact one, but there's a coffee variant on the list for HS.

I hope it's not that exact one. I see that some people liked it but that was just way too much coffee for me. Overpowered all other flavors in the Black Tuesday.

Right, I was confused with that and the Syrah BT blend. My guess is that the coffee one would also have BT in it, since I don't think any of their other strong ales would really take to coffee (anniversary beer with coffee sounds super gross to me), but it could be something new too.

I had a chance to talk to Jeff from Portola at Session A and he said there a quite a few projects in the works. This one was actually kind of last minute. He was given a sample of Black Tuesday to develop a blend of coffee to compliment, selected and rosted the beans Monday night and they were ground and put into the firkin's about 5-6 hours before session A. I thought it came out great and was the highlight of the night for me. With the Chocolate Rain, Grey Monday and Banana's Foster a close tie for runner up. Regardless, really looking forward to any future collaborations with Portola.

Anyone know if they're still pouring BT & variants in the Tasting room? I'd like to try them when I pick up bottles but they won't pick up the phone, any help would be much appreciated!

I don't think that it was too MUCH coffee. It was too much of the wrong coffee. It was one note, deeply roasted, bordering on burnt/acrid. A touch ashy. I think they were concerned about being tasted over the bold flavors of the BT. They'd be better off picking a characterful single origin expression bean, roasting it much lighter, and using about the same amount of coffee. The flavor will come through but it won't be so overbearing.

    My $.02.

How do I do this? Referring to the French press and BT. Would like to do that for Thanksgiving!

I was bummed about that. I was expecting it to be on as it was for a least a month last year

Yeah! Last year I wasn't able to get one through the online sale, but I went to the tasting room a few days later (or so) and they had bottles just sitting out for purchase in addition to the tap.
