I actually didn't realize that either. But yeah, they make great stuff. The best beer I've had from Decroah is from them honestly.

Half the time I forget that TG is in Iowa; I know nothing of the Iowa beer scene. :stuck_out_tongue:

I would imagine I won't be around there any time in the near future, but I just checked out their taplist, and it looks interesting.

I'm looking for 10 people to split a bottle of KBBS. Anyone want to throw in $10 for a 1.2oz pour?

Yes, and I’ll be in charge of the pours.

Thanks for volunteering. In my opinion, since you're doing all the work, the rest of us should throw in for your share. Since I'm in, @HouseofWortship is really looking for 7 more people at $11.78 each (got to cover the $6 ticket).

There's an economic case study in this somewhere...

I can probably afford $12, so I'm in.

I'm out if it hits $13, though; too rich for my blood.

Please read the fine print next time: "no duplicates – no guests – no proxies - no exceptions! DO NOT CALL THE TAPROOM"

Are you an @Quilentro mug club member? Great! It doesn't do you any good here, but ... is still great!

I feel like you're pulling a 3 Floyds here and changing the rules of the game after purchase. Not cool, man.

We reserve the right to substitute your 1.2oz pour of KBBS for 3ozs of a Miller Light/Budweiser blend.

    Aged in Malört barrels.

Well, that'd improve it at least.

(and I don't even particularly like Malort)

That actually is a good idea. If FFF did a double barrel the harshness of malort could balance out the sweetness of the Moscatel...

MD b5 pouring at harp and fiddle in park ridge Friday 6pm. They always have a really good taplist and beer on the wall is next door. Always good stuff on tap and available to go and let’s you break up 4 or 6 packs

Ahhh...no. I have had Pulpit Rock multiple times and every KBBS batch, and KBBS is way better, and it’s not even close.

$100 for a bottle of KBBS? I would fork that over ten times out of ten, but the drive is what makes it not worth it. That drive sucks, especially trying to do it in one day. I’ve spent $100 on way stupider stuff than a beer.

I've never had KBBS so I can't comment, but on both trips I've made to Decorah I've enjoyed PR's beers better. I did have MD last week and it's up there with beers I've had from Decorah, and it probably is #1, but it's close.

I will go as far as to say that under only the bleakest circumstances will a barrel-aged coffee stout be my favorite beer from an area. Unless there's actual magic in those 12 oz. bottles, I feel pretty confident in stating that MD would probably be my preferred choice, of the two.
