I'll pass with Central Waters in my back yard. Really wanted to say great mask! Made me laugh

I use a different method. I pour the first half of the bomber into a reusable 12oz bottle with a flip top SLOWLY. This guarantees less surface area for oxidation and holds the carbonation better. Routinely have the rest of a beer three days later that hadn’t dropped off much.

It's a funny thing. Prior to the 2017 release, Founder's got a lot of shit for not releasing CBS in bottles, instead parading it around in kegs at a handful of beer festivals since the initial release.

Now their about to release it two years in a row and people don't want it.

I had to point out the irony. Personally speaking, I will not be picking up any more CBS this year. Having just had another bottle of 2017 at a bottle share a few weeks ago, I'm not excited to age my other bottles, but likewise I'm not going to blow a hole in my liver to drink them now. Perhaps they'll be gifts to craft newbies in the event we hit another CBS dry spell.

$25 will buy me another bomber or two of some other damn good beers, or a couple mix-sixes with money left over for a draft pour.

Still have one from last year, probably time to crack that bad boy open (and see if the aging theory holds). I will probably buy another if I see one (hopefully a 4 pack) this year.
That said I'm enjoying the heck out of Better Half. Not an everyday drinker but damn tasty once in a while.

Oh, I certainly agree. I wasn't super impressed with CBS last release, but I'd still probably pick up a 4 pack out of respect. A 750mL at the price they ask just isn't worth it for me.

Still, it tickles me as funny since CBS was lusted after for so long due to the dry streak and building hype. Funny how both perceptions and format selections completely alter the market.

Got this last year, thought it was very good, not amazing, but tasty. However, for the price point, I will never buy again. If it's on tap at a reasonable price, sure, but not worth the $26 I paid for it.

Especially knowing that, if it was in 12oz/4pks, it'd be around the same price.

How about Panther Cub being released in 6 packs for $15 at the brewery in December though? Good price and format. Some people call it "CBS lite", although it is quite different.

Enjoying a draft 18 CBS right now. Very good, it has a little more Bourbon than I recall from last year. I will break out a 17 bomber and do a side by side comparison early in the week.

Is it is it a great beer or not? A good beer or not? The price is secondary.

Half Wall Beer House Port Orange FL. In a side by side comparison with the 17 the new release has a little less maple, a little more Bourbon and a slightly thinner feel.

I would say the general consensus is that it is a great beer. It's probably my favorite beer.

Last year people were worried about/scrambling around to get it. Now it's a shelf turd because of the availability, price and format. I agree, the format sucks.

This is only my opinion, but it's a shelf turd because it's not a rare beer with a low bottle count. If there were only say 1500 bottles across the country that bottle is valuable as an object in and around being a great beer. People will stand in line over night, they will trade it for 10x the price of the bottle, they will celebrate it with pics in the show your haul thread. They took the quest away. So if its a great beer you get once a year and its $24 I buy it. I'd like it to be $17 but hey it's not, the only question is the pricing point. For a once a year beer and one bottle personally I buy it if I like it that much. There was a day not too long ago Bcbs was Chicago only, now look.

Love the beer, and I'll happily buy a 750 if I see it between $20-$25(normal price point around here). is it a tad pricey for a 750?..maybe, but it's a world class beer, and worth it

I'd bet here and gone in most places, but it does sound like there's some on the shelf in places.
