Yup, here now, drinking the best Czech Pils around, grabbed my cans, no wait for either. Not that it hasn’t been said before, but this place is the best.

Today's pressure cooker weather really has me craving some of that Roam w/ Nelson!

That and the pils were phenomenal and perfect for this weather. the smoked Helles was very well done as well but I'd like to see a non smoked version of the helles (do they ever do that?), seems it would be another crushable thirst quencher. But I cracked a can of the Daylily last night and just wasn't feeling it, too syrupy sweet for me or maybe I just wasn't in the mood, it was late and I should've went for something lighter, I poured most of it down the drain :astonished:. I'll let the rest of my cans sit and revisit next week. The Roam, otoh, will not last the weekend.

As a follow up, and in the name of fairness, I was wrong about which pils I got. I got a can of Gather, not quiet life. Tad on the "old" side (lol like 6/25 canning).

This is actually extremely delicious, perfectly carbonated, and exactly the type of beer that is clicking my buttons lately. Would buy this regularly had I the opportunity to do so regularly. Really good stuff.

Bummed to hear the negative things about some of the cans. Ive only had Graze and Burst in cans, but I thought both were great (especially the fresh Burst). Their IPAs are a little different than the sort of standard NE IPA to me anyway.

It’s exaggerated. No issues with their canned offerings.

Will be stopping in at opening on Friday. Anyone know what the state of cans were like at the end of Sunday?

Also if anyone wants to meet up on Friday I can drag up some NJ/NYC stuff.

    Thanks

On Sunday I saw two cases behind the counter and they were gone when I left. No idea if more was in the cooler.

Stopped in this past Sunday afternoon around 2 p.m. and picked up 8 cans of both the Daylily and Roam Nelson. There were no lines and it looked like there were still plenty of cans to go around. I was surprised at how relaxed the environment was. I stuck around and had a couple of half pours (Quiet Life and Burst). Both were delicious.

How are the farmhouse ales at Fox Farm? Can someone describe them?

As a dad of two under four, I don’t get out often and was going to gear up for a beer trip (with about two hour ago being the max distance). Fox Farm is one of my options. Good farmhouse (not kettle sours) are a must.

    Any opinions on Tines?
I think aroma and flavor are to style (Festbier), although dryness seems more appropriate for a Marzen. Bitterness was slightly districting initially but that dissipated about 1/2 way through first glass. Could have been other variables involved as well. Settled in to second glass and very happy I maxed out 2x today with my wife present.

Starting Thursday at 2PM we will be offering this year’s batches of Witch Meadow. Like last year we have two versions available - the first of which is a blend from Jos. A. Magnus bourbon barrels. Untreated, it’s a presentation we’re proud to share as the model for what Witch Meadow is meant to be year in and year out. 1800 bottles / 2pp / $14 (500ml).

We will also have a unique variant we’re calling Witch Meadow “Black”. Also aged in Jos. A. Magnus bourbon barrels, we added Ghanaian Cacao Nibs, Madagascar Vanilla Beans and Ashlawn Farm Coffee. For the coffee, we opted for a blend of one of our favorite beans from Papua New Guinea and Costa Rica Hacienda Miramonte beans aged in a bourbon barrel from the very same lot used to age the beer itself. 1000 bottles / 1pp / $16 (500ml).

Had a poor of the regular witch meadow today and gotta say, it's legit. They were pouring the black earlier but sold out. Highly recommend those in the area grabbing a bottle. Busiest I've seen it I. A while.

pretty sure he meant the black kicked on draft. When I got there at open, they had black on tap but I guess once it kicked they put the regular variant up.

Yes, sorry... the keg kicked for draft of black. At 1,000 allotments I expect it to last a few days. They don't move that much inventory.
