It depends on the release, too. Pulp releases seem to always have lines. Possibly King Citra, too, though it's been a long time since I've tried.

I am hoping these survive until the afternoon since there aren't any new beers. Plus I really want Eastside Motel and suspect that the Parfait will sell out first…

 

Yeah, I miss the weekday releases with small or no lines.

They used to be my weekly regular. Now it is far and few between for cans.

Sacramento tap room now looks like Saturday release. I'm out....

 

The most recent times I went (last 5 releases? Paulie vs Steve, Death On Friday, Dankness On The Edge Of Town, Pepe The Shark etc.) they were sold out at like noon, when they open at 11am. I used to be able to stroll in at 5pm and pick up whatever they had.

 

I decided to contradict myself and make a stop in San Mateo on my way to a party in Palo Alto. Got both cans and just cracked The Dopeness - it's really good. I was worried about the influence of the Denali hops so I only got two cans (plus they had Pulp available for crowler, so why take any risks lol), but it's really good. The Mosaic is front and center and you would never guess this beer was a DIPA, let alone 9.3%.

Don't go to FW this Saturday then.....lol.... PULP, Destination Unknown and Loser Club vol IV Cans being released.

 

I don't know how the Berkeley location won't be a mess on Saturday given the special event taking place beforehand.

 

I listen to Tom Tolbert on 680 KNBR. I am going to have to check out his and Fieldwork's "Octoblertfest" one of these years. Looks like they raised over $25,000 for the Berkeley Humane (Dogs & Cats rescue).

But yeah... It is going to be a madhouse over there with the event and can release.

I had a blast last year so I'm really looking forward to Saturday! I hope they made tons of cans because there are going to be some thirsty ass people after the event!

wanted to swing by but have so much beer i need to drink through i wasnt motivated enough to go lol. i think destination lasted a while too

 

We're kind of experiencing an onslaught of releases at the moment so I feel your pain. Doesn't help that a certain celebrated lambic brewery had a release recently, not to mention we're currently in membership renewal season.

I got 2 of each of those FW beers coming so I'll post my thoughts at some point soon.

 

I thought Losers Club 4 was the best version of that series so far. Awesome batch of Pulp too.

 

More West Coast...

 

Just went to the new San Ramon location grand opening tonight. It was hopping It looks like a very cool setup with a large outdoor space with outdoor firepit/fireplace. I think it went very smoothly especially considering it was a huge crowd. They appeared to be prepared and very organized. It's in the North corner of the brand new City Center Outdoor Mall that just opened up at Bollinger Canyon Road right next to the 680 Freeway.

 

Anyone locals hear any rumors about what might be dropping PRE-Thanksgiving in 2 weeks???

I agree that this batch of Loser's Club has been the best so far. However, this batch of Pulp is no bueno. I'm getting some off flavors. This batch of Destination Unknown isn't very good either.

 

Upcoming release for this Saturday, 11/17.
2018 edition of Good Conduct. A BBA maple Imperial Brown ale. Brewed with Vermont maple syrup, vanilla bean paste and aged in bourbon barrels. This sounds fantastic. Too bad I most likely won’t be in the area to make it to the release.
