Good point that answers a question I asked in the other region. Maybe it's more people have crossed the "they suck" boundary for TGB.

 

As long as they’re expanding markets and upping production they can probably outrun lost customers for now. It’s more tricky for a brewery like Founders (who is doing very well with All Day) because even small percentage hits to large regional/national brewers mean far more lost dollars.

 

True, and I doubt they're losing that many customers. People who want this beer are a small minority of people who drink TG beers.

 

Yeah, I think that's it, honestly. I think the Florida PS thing messed with some people's goodwill, and all the other recent stuff has eroded it further for some.

Yeah, I was initially concerned (before my attitude changed) that their "quality issues" with PS would mess with their attempt to break into the Chicago market, but their other stuff is so solid that I'm sure most casual beer fans (and plenty of the hardcore ones) aren't passing on TG in general.

 

Look at the big picture- if TG sells out say 1,000 beers at $100 a bottle that's $100,000 less your whaling competition has to spend on other beers you want increasing your chances of getting them.
