Hey there, Do you still happen to have at least one ticket left for the Anniversary party? Sorry to hear about the wedding

Since no one's been talking about them...

Strawberry Oblivion - Tart and stone fruit upfront, but then you get overwhelmed by strawberries mid-palate to the finish. Pretty good, and probably what you'd expect a Cellarmaker strawberry sour to taste like.

Meet Me at the Kriek - Not just "strawberry oblivion" with a cherry substitute, the actual beer tastes quite different! It's less tart, and they said it's a barrel aged blend of beers. Quite a nice cherry flavor.

I enjoyed both, for different reasons and really appreciate that they taste very different - not just because of the fruit.

On a side note about Saturday night's 5th Anniversary Concert ... You guys been following Cellarmaker IG stories?

    * Obfuscated Trillium keg
    * Monkish cans (couldn't make out what they are, as I don't know their can art well)
    * Other Half Double Mosaic Wet Dream cans
    * Tired Hands Alien Church cans
    * Obfuscated Highland Park keg -
    * Obfuscated Green Cheek hazy keg - probably Shasha Fierce, their hazy pale inspired by Cellarmaker

Damn, that party sounds way better than the afternoon birthday party for a one year old in Sebastopol, and a Halloween party for adults in the City.

The cans those top tier breweries are sending up are awesome, but I hit Cellarmaker at lunch today to at least try the 5th Anniversary beer and pay my respects to 5 years.... And damn it if their current IPA lineup isn't fucking AMAZING. DDH Turok, Mo' Strata, Galaxy Blaster, Cloudy with a chance if Dobis, DDH Tiny Dankster, and Dank Williams. You honestly couldn't convince me a single other brewery Nationwide could best that for hops. Match it? Sure. But that's 6 4.25+ beers and 2 awesome Pale Ales.

    Definite FOMO for tomorrow lol

Yep, and that's just the hops. I think Pastry and Coffee/Cigs is still on, plus the 2 sours they just did are no slouch.

I was there last Thursday and chatted with a fellow from out of town, and he asked if the taplist is always stacked like that.... I told him it's the anniversary, but thinking to my self, I've actually never been to Cellarmaker that there isn't less than 2/3 beers I would like to drink.

I'm actually going to be at a wedding tomm in Gilroy, so I'm super bummed to miss the party.

Cheers to variety, great consistent beers (not looking at you 4Dobis), and to 5 more years of cellarmaker beeers.

No argument here! Although I thought you said in that other thread that my most hated brewery was the killing the hop scene now? :sunglasses:

Also based on what I saw on the Coming Soon board (cans of DDH pale) and Cloudy Dobis being announced as their final beer this week... I think that means DDH Bucket of Truth is gonna be released in a can maybe as early as next week?

Lol Alvarado IS killing the hops lately on new 2018 beers and their previous batches as well (Cool Runoffs, damn) no doubt, but still a step below CM in general overall for me. But ASB did put out my NorCal beer of the (10 months in) year, although I'm not sure if using this year's Nelson crop is cheating haha

DDH Turok and Cloudy aren't far behind though!

Super jealous if those of you going. That Sante Fruit Punch is a beer I dream of revisiting someday.

It was a lot of fun, really enjoyed the music and pours. There were pretty long lines to get Westly and Monkish before they sold out but that's to be expected.
Overall a great event that was well ran.

That pastry program sounds really good and I'm sure it's pricey to produce but $25 for a crowler just seems ridiculous

*shrug* It'd be $10 for a 7oz pour, so $25 for 32 ain't too bad. But I've kinda fallen out of favor with high ABV beers.

How was Pastry Program #1? So far they sound amazing, just have a hard time getting out there.

Pretty incredible. Rich, dark chocolate dominant flavors. Reasonably complex, with a big mouthfeel as well. I love Blammo so I'm sure I'll be happy with this new one.
