2018 CBS is supposed to hit distribution next Friday, so nobody should have it yet except perhaps on tap. Even then, most places with it on tap probably are serving aged 2017 kegs. Had that here last month. Anything on the shelves is certainly 2017.

Yep checked my bottle I bought a few weeks ago 2017, clears up the date question I had. Found it in a dark cooler, going to crack one next weekend.

I predict it will be outstanding. When I had fresh CBS for the first time last year I wasn't impressed, but with 6 months age it was incredible.

I just picked up two 32oz growlers of 2017 CBS for $16/ea. Beats the hell out of bomber pricing, and they're pre-aged!

Not sure if I want to get any more this year. Just wasn't that thrilled with last year's version, though I did think it improved considerably after a few months of bottle age.

That being said, the local beer bar that handled the release event last year appears to be doing it again this year, and will have both the 2017 and 2018 on tap for the event (along with current and last year's version of FBS). Maybe I'll feel differently (more excited) about obtaining some after the event.

The keg of 18 CBS that I had has been un-tapped. Evidently it wasn't supposed to be tapped untill the official release date and an employee made a mistake.

Similar event happening here in NYC and I will let my experience there guide my purchasing habits. I did not keep any 2017 bottles around for aging, so I'm tempted to have it on draft then buy 2 bottles and see how they do at 6 months/a year, but we shall see. It's certainly a nice perk to be able to try it before buying it.

    It ages quite nicely.

I've always wondered and maybe I've missed it. What exactly makes it Canadian?

I got a bottle of CBS in my BIF box, and I assumed it was fresh. So I went to my local beer store and rooted around a bit and stashed away was a lone bottle of CBS and 3 bottles of KBS. I just assumed the CBS was this years release, we never ever have anything left over, that was a pretty good morning of beer hunting.

I'm guess the maple part, and they wanted to use Dudly Doright to market. But it could have just as easily been a VT Maple Stout as well, but maybe a bit less exotic sounding.

I see they are releasing more tickets. Must not be selling like they thought.

Most overhyped beer I've ever had. Seriously.

Man that's incredible...I would have loved to have stumbled upon a tap like that. I'm waiting for the 2018 distro next week here at Founders...

I still have a 2017 bomber (checked the receipt and it was $22.99 per) and will gladly drop $20-$25 for the 2018 release. If anyone in the NNJ area happens across a stash once it is released I would appreciate a heads up for where I can find it just in case I miss it at my regular spots!

The ‘17 release is still packed deep on the shelves in so many stores for $19 here in NorCal. I can’t imagine anyone ordering more this year.

I can understand that assessment if you've only had it fresh. With six months age it's incredible.

Not the case in most markets, where it disappears within a few hours despite the price of the bomber distribution.

Yeah for sure, what I meant was I don’t think buyers around here will be ordering more this year when their shelves are still stacked with last years release.

Amazing. Here in Grand Rapids I don’t think a single bottle of 2017 CBS was readily available in stores within a couple weeks of release.
