    That does make more sense then. Those who try to fit into these rigid "style" guidelines like a BJCP in order to judge beer, makes no sense to me from an overall perspective. Judging a competition? Sure, I get that and respect the system. If I'm sitting around drinking with friends though and talking about the beers I like best, I'm not ever mentioning a pale lager because they're not really for me. If you make the best pale lager in the world, that's great, I'm just not the consumer who will purchase it with any regularity. Now give me a world class Belgian quad, and I'll drink it all winter long!

    My bad, didn't catch it. With as many hyperbolic and downright nasty comments you see on this site about Brewery A and Beer X it's hard to tell who is joking and who is just being a dick.
