I liked Fluorescent quite a bit when I had it, but I will 100% concede that it tastes "like every other HA IPA."

Nothing wrong with that of course, and I enjoyed it well enough. I just found myself wondering what the point of it was.

There was a time (mostly before they started doing more experimental IPAs like Now & Then and Sailor's Kush) that I stayed away from HA's one-offs for exactly this reason, so I'm not knocking your opinion. Their standard stuff is great when I'm in the mood, I've just been let down a few times picking up a $15 4-pack, only to realize it's pretty reminiscent of whatever the last 4-pack of theirs I had was.

The kicker is the one-offs are much more expensive than the standards. I loved Sailor's Kush and a few of the others, but Fluorescent just didn't do it for me.

I also will say flourescent was a road bump of what I consider an absolute grand slam of a year for Half Acre. It’s the only ipa they’ve made that I was not extremely impressed by.

Again, it was fine, but the Nelson didn’t do much for me.

Looks like the tap list has pretty much completely rotated out since I visited in September. Looking forward to my next visit in November for Prop weekend.

If anyone is a fan of Mexican-style Chocolate stouts, I recommend trying the Animal Print Hot Mexican Chocolate stout which I believe HA still have cans of at the store. The cinnamon is the most forward but not overpowering and the flavors seem to meld fairly well imo. Not sure I'll be able to drink all 4 of these as the style seems to work best for me in small doses. But I think it's a nicely done stout that pairs well with a cold evening.

Had a large pour of Raukar yesterday and swigs of the fruited versions. Raukar reminded me of Yanari but not as sweet-tarty and a bigger mouthfeel...if that makes sense. The fruited versions were both good too but, like HA said, tough to compare. Of the two I preferred pawpaw.

Well a friend grabbed me some bottles. Excited to check them out. I’m curious as to why they used both green and brown bottles.

Any chance the Loams hang around until this Saturday? Haven’t tried any wild offerings from HA, and would like to grab some bottles of these. Thanks.

Had Both fruit bottles. Loved them both. I preferred Paw Paw, Financee preferred the apricot. Just had a short pour of Rankur but it was very good. HA continues to crush these releases.

I thought Paw Paw was solid but not exceptional. Probably wouldn't pick it up again but I must say I was pleasantly surprised at the $15 price point.

They are usually good at updating their website. A week might be a stretch but you never know..

Stopped by Balmoral Tap Room Saturday and they had all three bottles available. I bought both of the Loams. Tried the Paw Paw, thought it was solid. Gonna save the Apricot for a bit.

HA, GI and Rev must get together and release all their seasonal BA stouts together in a centralized location...

This Friday, WAND Double India Pale Ale.

Brewed to hum, targeting resin and blazing forest fruits, we used our house 2-row, Vienna, malted oats and malted wheat alongside Simcoe, Amarillo and Mosaic hops for expressive mango, citrus and peach qualities with a stabilizing dankness.

This beer will be sold in our shop on Friday and is seeing distribution in Illinois, southeastern Wisconsin, Philadelphia and New York City.
