Sucks shows up here (NW Penn) all the time. Could be old stock, I guess. Not really into trying to decipher their bottle dating. Also, Brown Shugga is #1 and the best. Love it. And starting to think Born Yesterday isn't going to hit my area this year. Bummed. :sob:

agreed, falling off very rapidly. turning a lot more dank, less and less to my liking.

It must be old stock. I contacted Lagunitas via Facebook and a representative confirmed that the brewery is not currently making Sucks.

Sucks is "Gone for Now," according to the Lagunitas website.

Not sure what Lagunitas has been up to lately but it's not looking good.

My guess is they purposely tried to mimic the New England style in 2016, and realized they couldn't scale it up properly, which was evident by the two different batches.

Then in subsequent years they simply gave up on that and just made a wet hopped West Coast style.

2016 was absolutely a New England IPA (one batch anyhow). I had it on draft side by side with a Trillium IPA, they were both the same style in my opinion.

See my comments above, and also my photos in this thread. At the very least it absolutely looked the part in 2016. At least one of the batches anyways.

Yet will still be at local shops until 2019. I couldn’t find a 60 day fresh sucks all of 2018.

I love the BY concept and what it shows other regional brewers but they need to up their whole portfolio for sure.

Picked-up two six-packs this week. Fine brew, but not to the level of the 2016 edition. Or have I been spoiled by too much Tree House & Trillium?

Actually happy they got rid of Sucks. They changed the recipe when it went year-round, and it just wasn't the same beer at all.

I somewhat agree. This year I saw Hop Stoopid, Sucks, and Brown Sugga sit in the coolers of all places I visited. They were all super old except for a late summer Sugga release. I miss fresh Stoopid and Sucks mostly.

This being said the Limited Release and One Hitter series continues to get my attention and my $$.

I truly enjoyed the Born Again Yesterday and Super Cluster at $16 a 12-pack and the trifecta of their sours with Cherry Jane, Dark Swan and Sparkling Swan.

Except that this year they switched Dark Swan to 22oz only and released Sparking Dark Swan in 12-pk only ! Same goes for little sumpin' extra & Lucky 13 in 22oz only. No thanks !

Had one yesterday on a fresh palate. Was getting a strong onion-y flavor. Was pretty good at first, then that onion really started to get to me. The flavors overall of the beer never really melded together well.

Mostly clear, there appeared to be a chill haze to it, but it was very minor.

I think the date was 10/9, so only 19 days old.

Grabbed another 6er of this (bottled 10/08/18). I really enjoyed the dankness of it the first go round.

I believe the last bottle I had was about 10 days old. Hoping it didn't change that much. Not looking forward to the onion flavor you're suggesting.

Had my first bottle at 9 days old and had 2 bottles yesterday and it's just as good as the first bottle I had.

It was pretty good, I feel like I enjoyed last year's better but its hard for me to say. Definitely got a little bit of the onion flavor people have been mentioning, but I still enjoyed them!
