What leftovers are at the general store now? They seem to have pared the cans webpage back to the last release only

It's all on the general store page.

Anyone tried the new Rustic Pentagram bottles? Does it taste anything like previous batches and/or the offering on tap a few months ago? Because if so, I'm stocking up.

Man, Freedom From the Known was one of the more disappointing bottles I've had recently though... medicinal.

The Shake was good. Not exactly my cup of tea in terms of spiciness, but well-executed nonetheless and still pretty tasty.

Didn't pick up Rustic but did make sure to grab some Guillemot.

Am I reading this correctly, they had a can release and only sold 35 cases of each beer? Yikes. I guess that cash cow has pretty much stopped producing.

This is correct. I mean I was there last night working some trades and I didn't pick any up and that would have probably been the easiest pickup ever. Pineal I love but have had a bunch and The Canyon sounded good until they started adding more stuff after pineapple.

100% agreed! I said to my wife "why couldn't they stop adding stuff after the pineapple"

Same boat. Why do I need roots and flowers and almond powder (lol wot) in a pineapple beer?

So I stopped by the General Store a few days ago to pick up some non-hoppy stuff - bottles of Ourison, Wiccan Worship Circle, and cans of the Schwarzsbier and Barleywine.

I didn't notice it until I drank it last night (because the date is black ink on a black label) but the Wiccan Worship Circle was bottled 1/31/18. Even though it was an oak-aged beer, the label states something to the effect of "keep cold and drink soon". I assume since the lager yeast at warmer temps isn't really functioning to continue bottle conditioning. So seems odd this beer was not being keep in the cooler by TH.

Not sure how different it was fresh, but I still liked it and my review score of 4.09 was above the average here on BA, so maybe it's not much worse for wear.

Yeah I really really enjoy Prayer Group and Wiccan Worship Circle but yes definitely check the dates as bottles have been sitting there for a long time across a lot of brands. Most of the time it's fine because it's barrel aged with complex yeast strains that allow for it to evolve so yeah definitely different than fresh but not bad. Like they still have spring and fall from March etc.

Reading the goodbeerhunting article now during lunch.

“It’s such a big, wide world of beer right now, and I worry sometimes our culture is now favoring excess as a form of creativity,” Broillet says. “I think that’s pretty fucking boring and that is sort of the norm now.”

That's pretty rich, considering all of the one off culinary cans and shakes, but keep on keepin' on Jean.

I found them both..........average. Day in day out my two favorite bottles from TH are both their lower end offerings (price wise). Ourison and Shambolic.

It's been said before but the "revised/DDH" version of Pineal is fantastic.

Yes, that quote would be a lot better coming from a brewer specializing in German lagers or English milds. Seems quite hypocritical

So is the takeaway that all these breweries are going to start making natural wine? Or wish they were?
