Founders beer releases

Funny. That was the exact same thing I was thinking when I was drinking it.

 

Agree, last years was much better, I bought a couple 4 packs this year but that's probably it. Plus 13.99...ouch

 

Founder's has tickets available for both the Grand Rapids and Detroit CBS release on eventbrite.com.

Prepare to be bent over at $56/ticket (2 bottles).

 

How.....how much....do you think this beer is going to cost....at the store?

 

Depends on the store. MI saw it from $18/19-30 last year.

 

The $56 includes a CBS bag and some other swag. Haha.

 

Cracked open a 2017 CBS last night, and still got the Maple and Coffee while cold, but as it warmed all that was lost and faded into slight astringent green pepper. Not saying it was bad just has really fallen off, drink em if you got em boys its not getting any better IMO.

 

Which is weird, because we drank one last weekend and had nothing like that. It was outstanding, and far better than it was fresh a year ago, especially as it warmed.

 

When you make that much of a barrel aged beer, there are going to be a lot of differences.

CBS arrived in Peoria today.

 

CBS hitting select retailers around Detroit tomorrow, everyone else will get it next week.

 

Stores in Central Iowa already have it, but pending sales until tomorrow(11/02/18) to match the National release date posted by Founders.

 

Pretty much every store I follow in Chicago (whether it's Binny's, Whole Foods or independent craft beer stores) has posted already about having it tomorrow or Saturday. I'll always be amazed that the stores in Detroit manage to get things after we do.

 

Yeah, its always weird like that. Chain stores that are getting it already have it in their back rooms. Their will be a few of us independents getting it as well. Why everyone isn't getting it the same week is beyond me, its not like its coming to the distro warehouse in waves.

 

Sitting this one out. Just wasn't too impressed with CBS. Really wanted to love it and tried...the flavors just weren't there.... recently tried 2 bottles from last year and it was all green pepper

 

CBS demand seems more subdued this year. Had a 2017 last week, was same as draft and bottle when fresh last year, thinner and with a lighter maple flavor but no pepper. Bought bottles, tons available this morning at the Meijer’s on Pennsylvania Ave. in Lansing MI

 

No pepper? Were you expecting it?

 

No I didn’t but others reported 2017 bottles consumed recently. Mine was fine consumed last week, have one more and a 2018, will drink both before the end of this year.
