What a wet dreary morning.....just was down re-arranging a bit in my (beer) cellar, and thought I would give this guy a pour....sorry for the less than stellar photo - raining hard outside!

 

early start here today, gloomy and wet out so it's perfect time for some coffee.

 

On this chilly wet November morning . . .



Beautiful red gold color with scant off white cap and lacing.

Aroma of dark toffee with some floral highlights.

Taste is exceptionally smooth rich dark malt with just a hint of hop bitterness. The malt is definitely roast malt without roasty bitterness. There is a sense of sweetness, due to the rich malt I suppose, but it finishes dry with just enough hops to put a period at the end of the sentence.

Raining hard here and ruining another one of my vacation days. I bought this Polish beer for NBS on a whim, but I opened it today just because...

I will share my review only because I enjoyed it so much and initially misread the date code (assumed bottled 6/12/18 not BB 12/6/18).

500mL bottle lot # 6.12.18 (reading other reviews assuming this is best before Dec. 6) poured into a tulip pint glass at fridge temp 9% ABV. The beer pours nearly black and impenetrable to light. The head is mocha colored and recedes slowly leaving a 1/4" cap and some lace. The aroma is pleasant with hints of smokey roast, coffee, berry and chocolate. The taste is smokey, berry tinted roasted malt that is barely sweet in the middle before a drying, tangy slightly smoked finish. Bitterness is medium and there only to balance the malt. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, adequately carbonated and dry in the finish. Overall, excellent. Wonderful beer crafted exactly to style. Recommended.

Just found out my cholesterol is like 300. Not good needs to go down. So just got off the exercise bike for half hour and according to myyfitnesspal that earns me 1 of these. Didn't even fully crack the lid before I could smell it. This is gonna be good.

 

Great to see folks liking this as the brewery only distributes in WI, IL, & MN. Will send your thoughts along to my son - the lead brewer. He is currently wrapping up a 2 wk brewing course in Madison.

@DoctorZombies I sent a screenshot of your post to him earlier. His response - "Very cool !"

 

Wow that is pretty cool, I got one bottle in a trade and loved it so much I set up a few more bottles!! World Class IMHO.
