    Bonsai project is officially announced:
Long and short, November 12th, six packs with three of each brew. Meant to be combined together. Pretty interesting concept for a collaborative effort, reminds me of Deacon Blues and Twist of Cain combining to make Steely Danzig.

It's great that a thread about the death of the black IPA has been sitting on the front page of BA for a few days and Short's release Bodacious. The last time Bodacious saw a release Car Ramrod was out at the same time, so I was having a good ol time.

And for those who haven't had it at the pub before, Step Into the Haze is a great addition to the Hoppy Holidays pack.

Im not the biggest IPA fan but I do love the black IPA style. Goodnight is one of my favorite all time beers and this year in its absence I have been enjoying some Keweenaw Level 92.

I do like that we are still getting V5.0 in December in addition to Hoppy Holidays '18 in November.

Same for me, I was bummed when it wasn't on the lineup this year, going to get my fix.

I might have to drive up to Indiana literally just to find a Meijer and buy the Hoppy Holiday Pack (assuming it is like last year and readily available at most Meijer locations).

Dan's Pink Skirt is one of my top 3 favorite beers all time.

    Look, up on the intertubes! It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's. ..

    NEW BEER UP!

After a year of MMB and (soon) MI/OH, it's nice to see the original Short's juniper/ginny brew back in bottles. It feels a little early though. Usually I like to have a few while decorating for Christmas, a day or two after Thanksgiving.

    NEW PRIVATE STACHE BEER!

You know the drill, pub/Short's Mart only, so boogie over to Bellaire.
And maybe some non-BBA Evil Urges could find it's way to stores? Well, a man can dream...

My thoughts exactly! I bought a single today and as I drink it I kinda feel like I got my Christmas gift early. It just seems proper to wait until the first snowfall to crack this one open.....

Another Private Stache on the way! This one was tasty at Detroit Fall Beer Fest last weekend.

Does anyone know what Mosa is? Saw that a couple stores in my area just got 6pk cans of it this week on the beer locator.I know it was on the tap list at Herman's in Plymouth during a Short's brunch feature, but never made it out there. Im wondering if its supposed to be Mule beer and its just a mix up like Pan Galactic and Pandemonium was earlier this month.

I wondered the same thing yesterday. Turns out it's a starcut cider. http://starcutciders.com/our-ciders/mosa/

The Hoppy Holidays pack started hitting retail on Tuesday. Yoda’s Blend is not what I would call an IPA but it’s a damn good Imperial Red or American Strong Ale. Step Into The Haze should be released in six packs ASAP. Miles above Slurm Lord IMHO.

This makes me happy to hear since I've been talking up Step Into the Haze for over a year.(Check the links, true story) Maybe Starshot next, Short's?

Finally confirmed a babysitter for next week's Short's Hoppy Holidays tap takeover at JB's Smokehouse in Canton. Any BAs going I'll gladly buy you a round of Haze, I love it that much.

Just cracked Step Into the Haze and agreed that this needs its own release. Also wouldn't mind some more Goodnight Bodacious haha.

I too will be at JB's next week since daylight savings will be ending my golf season this week. Just look for the guy that looks like Jesus and don't worry about getting me a round since I will probably have my hands full of pulled pork and Bourbon Mango.

I'm planning on hitting the Bourbon Mango and Gin Sunrise and taking some Hoppy Holidays to go.

I'm planning my road trip up to Indiana next weekend to hopefully find the Hoppy Holidays pack. Gonna make a whole weekend out of it, even though my primary reason for going up is just to stock up on Short's.

Mosa is awesome, shared a can with my wife for brunch this morning, they nailed it with this one for sure.

Also, seeing multiple batches of Slurm Lord, really enjoying finding it a week old in my local Meijer for $9.99.

So both of the “never bottled” beers were new to me. Yoda’s was/is a great beer. Has more of an ‘old ale’ feel but with some hoppy bitterness and I will be happy to buy at least one six pack next year if Shorts decides to go this route.

Haze was similar, but better than Slurm Lord. I personally feel like Shorts is a bit behind in the NEIPA game but I’d still buy a six pack of this.

While black IPA’s aren’t a popular style and there isn’t much competition, Goodnight Bodacious is simply put a top shelf Black IPA. Been digging this beer for a few years and am always happy to drink this when the air gets crisp.

Dan’s Pink Skirt......I’m happy to have it but bummed it’s in this format. 2 of these is simply not enough and this should be an annual release in 6 packs. With all the NEIPA hype the piney, extra bitter IPA is almost a forgotten style and I’ve always been fond of Dan’s Pink Skirt. I will continue to buy this beer as long as Short’s brews it.

I’ll skip Ahh Jeah and jump right into the encore, Batch 5000. Before this beer I had a hard time appreciating the true Tripple IPA. This beer is the one that changed all that. This is one serious beer and honestly two strategic 12oz pours is satisfying enough for the year.

The Shorts Hoppy Holiday pack has become a staple in my beer drinking routine since it’s inception. While I wish these things actually landed during the Holidays and not so soon before Thanksgiving I’m glad to have partaken in another Shorts Hoppy Holiday!!!

How many dudes here are fans of classic Short's brews? Old-school, these-are-the-beers-that-made-Short's brews?

Just got done taking to the man himself and the next variety pack will contain four of everyone's favorites. I'm not going to spoil it here (beer mail me if you wanna know) but if you're a fan you are gonna love the next pack, I guarantee.
