Went looking for more of this yesterday and struck out at the two places I tried. Barrel Runner’s still sitting there, though. Will keep trying.

There is plenty in Pittsburgh if you care to go there.

I am shocked really. CBS sells out in hours, but CBH is just as good and sits on shelves. It is much more affordable too.

Perhaps CBH is better than fresh CBS, but I'd take six-month-aged CBS over CBH hands down.

Gonna have to let this one sit for awhile, verrrrrrrry sweet which means a taste is really all I need to get my fill, anything else just puts me off.

I don't hate it, I could see nursing one or two of these on a snowy night with a movie and a fire but I hate the price for something I'm lukewarm on.

Beer pricing is not based on the cost to produce the beers, its based on demand and percieved value.

I haven't seen it here, but the bottle I had was terriffic, most definitely it is not SWEET, as in a sugar bomb. I don't like sweet. Well worth a buy IMO.

It is crazy how much pallets can differ. Sweet is the main descriptor I would use to describe this beer and brown sugar and molasses are some of the biggest stand out flavors to me

It’s sweetish but I certainly didn’t think it was super sweet, I thought they did a good job balancing the flavors.

Really surprised by the price variation. I just picked up a bomber of CBH for $10.89 at Costco (here in PDX), and CBS was in the $24/$25 range all over town. Based on what I've read in this thread, sounds like this is a beer I need to share or try to drink over several days/nights.

It is finally showing up outside of Wegman's in SE Massachusetts and Rhode Island. I have picked up enough to age, which I think this beer will do splendidly. Yankee Spirits has it (at least in Swansea) and Nikki's and High Spirits in Providence had some at least as of the weekend. Maybe the "frenzy" has passed and it will hang around for us slow folks to find...$16.99 to $17.99 a four pack.

FWIW, I am in the not too sweet and reasonably well balanced camp, myself. Really found this to be an enjoyable sipper. The maple is "just enough" but it does remind me of those maple sugar candies which (when made with authentic syrup) I really love. That could be influencing my tolerance for the sweetness a little, but it's nowhere near a sugar bomb like Southern Tier Creme Brulee...

Was in the liquor department of a second-rate supermarket today and behold.....5 bottles of Better Half on the shelf for $3.99 each. Of course I picked them up! LOL! I'm now locked and loaded with 19 bottles. Just enough to get me through till the next release.

Had another last night....like a velvety smooth and thick Makers Mark with hints of maple and vanilla. What I like about this type of beer is it can be slowly nursed and sipped for 40 minutes or so. Almost like drinking a much more potent liquor. Very nice.

This stuff is excellent. Can't believe it's just sitting on the shelves in Indy.

Quite outstanding - 4.41. Wish I had bought more than a single 4 pack.

Lucky for us. For my money they are one of the best big dark beer makers out there. I just recently found the shop in my area where founders just seems to sit, they still had multiple packs of sumatra brown, I think I'm the only one buying the better half from them. 4 packs backwoods just chillin. It's like my own personal climate controlled cellar

No, they just are flooding the market with the stuff. All their 'goodies' used to be so limited. My local shop got 12 cases of Better Half 4 packs and a few cases of the bombers. The first time it was released, they only got one case of bombers.

Even my grocery store had a couple cases of 4 packs.

People complain when it's too limited. Then they complain when there's plenty of it. Weird ass people!
