People can hate all they want. The hype train has left the tracks.

People pay more for quality all the time. It’s no different here. I’m in for 2019. Cable Car alone is worth joining.

I went to purchase my limit. After not seeing it I realized, I'm a 2019 member so none for me.
    Question:
When an allocation goes up, how long is the window to buy?

The 2018 membership was well worth it. I think LA has generally been left behind by many people who moved on to the next shiny thing - and I don't buy their public releases either - but the membership beers (whether membership-exclusive or very-limited) have been worth the cost of admission.

Usually at least a couple of weeks. Sometimes they put up vintage stuff and even though you have a few weeks to buy, it sells out early.

I personally do not as my bottles are spoken for. There are more on the site right now for members. At least I see them for members as being available with a 3 bottle per person allocation.

Unfortunately I missed out on being a member for 2018. But I got in for 2019. No worries. Appreciate the response!

    Hey boys and girls.

I’m an Illinois resident, just had all my beers shipped to me

So I have a question to anyone who has already had 24 steps.

I’ve looked at some pics and am wondering if I should roll this bottle or not. Some pics are hazy, while others have some clarity.

Should I be rolling these bottles? Or should I be gently pouring these to leave the the sediment behind?

Bringing a bottle or two to a share tomorrow, would love some feedback

I wouldn't. Keep as much sediment out as possible.

You can’t do the Sante swirl on every beer though...

Not a member but why not do first half of the bottle clear, then slightly agitate the rest and go from there?

Sante swirl isn't bad, but for their Jose Pimento I felt it detracted from the beer with too much of the culture notes that it overpowered the subtle spice.

I'm not sure if we're talking about "regular-ass" 24 Steps or the new 24 Steps with Nectarines and Peaches, and I've actually never tried *either* beer, so I admit I have no idea what I am talking about to make a specific recommendation...

    ...AND YET...

In the spirit of the internet and craft beer fandom in general, I will give my opinion anyway!

Big qualifier-- I assume the aforementioned nectarines and peaches are from one or more of the blending components that have been aging on stonefruit from Masumoto Family Farm, and I *have* drank more Masumoto beers than probably anybody else in the history of mankind.

I almost always prefer the sediment from these beers to be stirred up in the beer. Sante swirled, if you will. The sediment may have bottle-conditioning yeast and whatnot, but with Masumoto fruit beers, it often also has fine pulp/residue of the actual peaches and nectarines, and stirring it up in the beer makes the aroma and flavor *POP* with a much more pronounced stonefruit expression. I wouldn't say I prefer these beers this way 100% of the time, but probably at least 75% of the time.

That said... Masumoto or not, if it's a new beer (one I have not tried before, regardless of age), I *always* try to get a taste of a clear pour before I get the sediment pour. Let it settle as much as possible in the fridge, and pour it carefully and cleanly for the first taste. Then I agitate the rest and top it off so I can have the experience of trying the beer with and without the sediment.

I find it kind of funny that people *wouldn't* do it that way, because it's so easy and obvious and often revelatory. Even at Sante Adairius, when they open a bottle and pour for you with the Sante Swirl, I wish they would give an opportunity to try the clear pour first. I'm sure that's how I will enjoy my next Sante/Masumoto beer(s), which will be my first (6 Years or A Thousand Summers-- both I hear are fantastic). But I digress....

Looking forward to trying the new 24 Steps with Nectarines and Peaches. Sounds like an awesome blend!

Oh man, that Thousand Summers is just great. I already went through my 3 bottles, couldn’t even help myself.
