quick question - does OH provides like shopping bags or something if you're only buying 2 4pks or so? Mylar Bags makes me want to stop by after work today, but I don't feel like carrying a 4pk in each hand for the subway, path, nj transit train back home.

...i really should start keeping those reusable grocery bags at work.

So I've acquired a good amount of bottled OH stouts over the past month or two through trading. What's a reasonable shelf life for these beers? I know with these adjuncted stouts, especially with lactose, sooner is better. But I'd like to spread these throughout the course of the winter. Several months should be fine, right?

 

So many ways to go with this.

First, you assume they are good now and will fall ofd. The former is a dangerous assumption, haha, but also if you haven’t had a beer before and don’t know what it tastes like, you won’t know if it fell off.

Second, OH stouts are hard to drink more than 4 ounces of (noted here by many), much less a whole bottle, so it may take you ages to get through lots of bottles.

Third, if you get through all of them on your own or through shares in the next few months, please report back. I wanna know how that turns out.

 

I can drink a whole OH stout by myself you guys don't love OH like I do.

 

People, or maybe it's just this board, get weird about the formats of stouts vs ipas regardless of abv it seems. When people mention barely being able to drink 4oz of a beer I usually assume they didn't really like it or at best find the adjuncts interesting but not something they'd want more of.

I don't see the difference in having two cans of an 8% ipa vs a 500ml bottle of a 12% stout.

 

Plenty of 8% IPAs and other beers I can slam without even realizing it. Plenty of 12% stouts and other big beers I can throw back easy too. Every OH imperial stout I’ve drank has been a chore to finish. That’s the difference to me.

 

Fair, but so is that the abv not being hidden(as in poorly brewed) or a heavy mix of adjuncts or both?
