Serious question: Is this something that was held back by distributors or held back by the store to sell aged beer? Neither seems ideal, no? Maybe I’m wrong. Might be a good experience to buy one and get a bottle of 2018 to try alongside it.

I wondered what the story was myself. This is not a fancy liquor store in the least nor one with a particularly well curated craft selection, so I can't imagine there was any kind of grand plan involved. My best guess would be they found some in their storeroom that they lost track of and it may or may not have been stored ideally.

I did buy a bottle though figuring the stuff is pretty indestructable barring infection.

Or you could go to Hugh O'Neil's in a couple of weeks and try a four year vertical on a flight.

Grabbed the cans from the recent Interboro drop; DDH Full Time, DDH Premiere, and You're All I Need: Vic Secret. I've only cracked the DDH Full Time, but it's really nice (hop sediment aside).

True (actually I have no idea where Hugh ONeils is), but I got the hook up on the OG, Reserve, and Wheatwine coming straight from chi city!

It’s in Malden, a five minute walk from Idle Hands.

I mean, it's $6. That's not a crazy price. Just happened to see it when I was there & bought it.

yes and no its easier to rip on the distributor. their prices for most craft stuff is high before it comes to a store and most stores operate on a 30% markup. I hear people complain all the time at my store about how Finback, Singlecut or Horus are too expensive. they are for me to buy them and i try to keep it as close to a 30% markup as possible.

Oh, yeah that’s not bad at all. But still if you want another Willi Becher you can find them many different places. Nice versatile style of glassware.

Redstone Stoneham did indeed get the full drop. So did CBC Westford, which isn't North Shore, but is at least north of Boston.

Did that include any of the barrel aged beers?

No, looks like the places in MA that got the full drop of stouts this time got Christmas Bomb, Bomb, Double Dunk, and Consider Yourself Hugged. Maybe Paradise too.

Although speaking of barrel-aged beers, Boulevard Plaid Habit should be showing up in the upcoming weeks. Double-mashed 13.9% imperial brown ale aged for 18 months in 10 year old rye whiskey barrels. 4-packs of 12 oz bottles. I am very interested in this.

Sounds delicious. Also sounds like a barleywine branded differently for the non-BIL crowd?
