They stopped.uodatomh for the releases that were just sitting around ,probably because of the psychological scarcity behavior discussed above. It would.only make sense that there is a lot left if they haven't changed it tonight.

Removing case counts seems a whooooole lot like sacrificing more info for the consumer and convenience for the sake of giving off a vibe of scarcity. Like, I get that breweries are employing strategies like that but it just seems completely transparent... I get that it's probably not a huge deal 95% of the time if there's plenty of beer left anyway (but I can imagine being annoyed that they removed that feature if I went specifically for X beer and found they ran out) is there some other explanation I'm missing maybe?

Possibly that if there is more beer left, it is harder to count? Although the POS system may do that automatically?

There was quite the backlash when Aslin did this too until they relented and posted case counts again.

If removing case counts is going to be the regular thing moving forward, that will be the final straw for me with Tired Hands

I can pay a mule for some Treehouse, Other Half, etc and it will still be cheaper than Tired Hands beer even after fees and shipping

It's like they are identifying different ways to slap their loyal customers in the face.

I wonder what next week will be.

Because this bears repeating if you ever got on the phone with someone at Tired Hands I've always found them to be more than accommodating to give estimates as far as how long a wait for a table will be, how much bread from the brew cafe is still available to go or how long they expect beer to last.

I'm very clearly a fan of the business so may be looking at things with rose-colored glasses but I would imagine by not including case counts they are signaling that it will last for multiple days, rather than to artificially increase scarcity - to do obviously wouldn't be fooling anyone at this point. I would anticipate for more "line-worthy" releases (i.e. Only Void, etc.) that they would return to including this figure in their updates.

Wouldn't, you know, posting the actual case count send this same signal (and others) much more efficiently and effectively?

I'm a fan of the business generally as well and am happy to defend them against the many baseless complaints they receive, but this move is a little perplexing.

Honestly it seems to me that Tired Hands has been listening to the feedback they have been getting and making changes to correct the issues. They have lowered the prices of the past few releases, $22 and $20 for this week is reasonable. This week's release was and old favorite and a shake without any noticeable adjuncts as people have been asking for. Hopefully they keep going in this direction and keep making great beers. Their reputation has been as an experimental brewery, so I am fine if they make exotic beers with unusual ingredients once in while as long as they continue to offer the "classics" as well.

I really don't see how this is a big deal. You can always call and ask if you're worried about making a trip there and cans running out.

Also, you must pay your mules shit if you're getting them to shlep you down $15-$20 4-packs of Tree House for less than it costs you to buy the $14-$20 4-packs of beer they sell at Tired Hands.

I think it's more about the signals they're sending than it is about actual inconvenience. "We have information readily available for buyers that might help them to make decisions, but are going to stop providing it because it indicates that our beer isn't as scarce or in-demand as it once was." Again, is there any other reasonable takeaway from the change?... Also, who still speaks on the phone unless they absolutely have to in 2018?

Was out running some errands and did this exact thing last night instead of being able to look at the website. I had to talk to a human on the phone, quelle horreur! Anyways the peach shakes are great and I even enjoy the adult flavors!

Here is my issue though. I want to run today at lunch to get some peach, but need to be there and back by 1:00. That means I have to land at TH by 12:00. So how can I call them to make sure they have plenty left if they don't open until 12. I can't.

Oh yeah it is definitely not ideal, or rather goes a step backwards with lack of information.

And there's the fact that it's far less time-consuming and much more efficient for both ends to simply post the case count online... as well as the fact that I've called the GS before and gotten a completely different answer about availability than when I called the Ferm. But either way, the convenience or inconvenience of calling is beside the point, I was kidding.

Once again, this just feels like a slimy signal to buyers that they're withholding info and stopping a practice solely because it belies the lack of scarcity of cans nowadays.

Right I mean how would it look to realize that they are sitting on over 500 cases of beer. I wonder how often they are solicited by local wholesalers etc.

This is valid I think. They don't want to advertise lots of beer left thus leaving open the door for people to start clamoring for distribution, thus a haircut on profits if they were to do so. Hmmm, very interesting the more you think about it.

I get it, we all get it. They need to turn a profit too and think about their future. Some of the things they do is great (like Dudley Direct). And some of the things they do makes you scratch your head (pricing, withholding info, etc)

Its like one step forward, two steps back.

If you want to stop sitting on beer, stop canning your experiments and charging $20+ a four pack for it. Have regular releases of your rotational offerings. Church, Pineal, Technicolor, Oblivex, Eviscerated, etc. Leave the experiments to the brew cafe and open it up for fills if people want to take it home.

Where the hell has Oblivex been? Soft sphere? Why is Wish Fulfillment not being canned? Hell, why is saisonhands not being canned?

They take this singular fruits that would be great by itself in a shake. And add unnecessary adjuncts. Apricot....chamomile? Guava....lavender?

I will say that I'm impressed that they seem to be responding to market demand by lowering prices at least. I hope they also respond to demand dropping (presumably) as they churn our odd Shake cans and questionable Invasive cans that sit idly. I'm not sure if we can expect swift/dramatic responses though given that they're assuredly still taking in tons of money and quickly with their current release schedule. But yeah... minor as it may be the deletion of case counts just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and makes me less inclined to visit, just because it's so transparently predatory.

You can definitely find me back in line for a double release of Oblivex and Wish Fulfillment though.

As someone who regularly ships beer, somehow I doubt this is true.
