That used to be me. I still probably could, but I'd regret it 10oz in. They're fun (I still enjoy Black Tuesday and it's ilk), but I need help these days haha.

I gotta say I'm torn on what to do with Benthic; I'd be fine grabbing the presale, but 1 of each variant versus 2 in person...Part of me is like "just show up Friday dude, maybe you'll get lucky and find bottles in the afternoon," and the other part is saying "that's literally never happened to you."

 

Pretty sure pre-sale is no longer an option.

 

Oh, it's an option. But only a lucky option. I'm hoping for one honestly. Would save me the trouble of standing in line in a week. Not expecting one, though. I'll likely be in line like most everyone else.

Nah. I thought it was pretty obvious he was just saying it was going to be impossible to actually get the pre-sale.

 

Was the Big Hugs pre-sale tough to get in on? (the only one of these they've done, to my knowledge). I thought these typically weren't nearly as crazy as the ticketed events tend to be, which is why I wasn't sure he was kidding.

 

Dunno, didn't try for it. I'm assuming this one will be tough. Benthic has a huge following. I know of numerous people who weren't going to bother with going to the release because of work, so they were skipping getting it this year. Now they're going to try to get the pre-sale so they can just pick the bottles up whenever they have a chance.

 

Oh yeah, believe me, I know how popular it is (first year I managed to miss out on getting a bottle twice). I just figured that this option wouldn't be as appealing to a lot of people (lower limits, convenience fee, etc.), but I suppose for every one of those people, there will probably be a guy who buys an allotment online and then lines up 3 hours early to max out in-person as well.

 

Yep, the pre-sale is allowing for a large chunk of people to give it a real go at double-dipping on Benthic. Get in on the pre-sale, cool. You have your guaranteed 4 bottles. Hit up the release and get yourself a bunch more.

 

Someone needs to sit outside of Half Acre for a day with a cup begging for change with a sign that reads "It's stout month. Can you spare some change so I can get Benthic presale?"
